Oh yes, you MUST take some portraits at the Bellagio! Hire a photog for a couple of hours (or get a friend to do it). We hired a photographer and he did a good job (and was rather inexpensive)
Oh man.. we stayed at the Bellagio when we went a few years back.. you MUST take pictures on the steps and IN the botanical gardens. It is absolutely breathtaking.

I am SO sorry that your mom FREAKED, DZPlymouth! Please thank her for me! I talked with the guy from Elvis on the phone, and he was really nice and helpful. I am pretty sure that is it a toss-up between A Elvis Chapel and The Little White Wedding Chapel.
Each really has some NEAT things! I love the idea of the nice photos and kind people at the Elvis, but I also love the idea of a night, lighted gazebo wedding at Little White Wedding Chapel and the super nice lady with whom I spoke there.

DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE ALLADIN? (I just realized that message smacks of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. )
You all rock! thanks!
Silver

^sounds SO romantic!!!

I haven't heard anything bad about the Alladin..but I haven't heard a lot of good stuff.. kind of neutral.

Have you picked out what you're going to wear yet? Do you have an ideas?

I'm so excited FOR YOU for your renewal.. I think I should rethink my intended career as a teacher and go into Wedding Planning!

I just asked Mr. Silver, and he said, "I am planning on wearing an Elvis Jumpsuit." Oh, Dear! Mr. Silver and Spandex....NOT a good combination!

If you were wondering about the Alladin for accomidations.. check out Circus Circus.. they run a LOT of good deals. (I know Sun-Thursday or what-not its something like $50/night) They have some wicked good deal like that.

BAHAHAHAHAHHA! GO FOR IT MR. SILVER!! ELVIS JUMPSUIT..hahahahaha! I just cracked up over this though.. mind you.. I work in a university office where MANY people are studying for finals at this very moment [minus me, of course..] Some kid gave me a wicked funny look..
My dad wore a dark grey suit w/ a red tie and my mom wore an off-white w/ gold silk suit. Very nice. 'Tis the season for nice dresses too, for you. (With prom and such)

LOVED IT! I love the idea of getting paid to spend someone ELSE's money

When is this all happenining? If its this summer, you can get some rockin deals at hotels right off the strip..even some good ones on the strip... check out older hotels..they have a tendancy to have good deals and packages.

We were featured in a destination wedding article though on another site:

Also the Wedding channel board has a Vegas bride thread that is pretty good with great advice:

Silver, you are too sweet!
I wish I would get stories about me in the newspaper. Sometimes I'm such a media whore. I'd probably print it out for everyone and mail it to them on fine paper.

By the way has anyone ever told you that you look like the woman from the view? I don't remember what her name is but anyway, you could do one of those Jenny Jones things where you look like a famous celebrity and make some money off that for fun.

I was a bridesmaid in my friend's Las Vegas wedding in 2003. She had a morning ceremony at the Bellagio, followed by a luncheon. It was a small crowd of about 40 guests. Most of the people flew in for the week and partied in Vegas, seeing shows, exploring, etc. The bride and groom even had a co-bachelor/ette party.

hey ladies - seeing as i live in vegas and frequent las vegas blvd often .. you probably dont want to stay at the aladdin ... its actually closing soon, being bought out and what not - if you want a really nice place but a bit expensive just to STAY - id say THE HOTEL @ mandalay bay ... gorgeous - its all black and white and like classy looking - so nice.
as far as weddings - sorry ladies, i havent gotten THAT far yet ... but the ones inside of the hotels are beautiful. if you like the whole elvis thing - the little white wedding chapel (where britney got married! lol) is so cute. its down the road a little ways in downtown las vegas - but its so cute
good luck finding the one you want to renew your vows at! anyone of them would be fun

Girl, you and I gotta have a GC hookup the next time I go to Vegas. I stayed at the Aladdin in Aug 2003 and had a kick ass room, overlooking the fountains at the Bellagio. It is a damn shame that the hotel went downhill

I think the biggest problem with the Aladdin was the architect. They designed the hotel in such a way that the pool is always in the shade Anyway, it is closing and will re-open as the Hooters Hotel and Casino - no I'm not kidding.

I know someone who got married at Treasure Island and had a luncheon at Postrio in the Venetian. I have heard it was beautiful.

I just got back from Vegas this weekend. We had a great time and stayed at Mandalay Bay, but they did not really impress me. The Hotel there may have. I also wouldn't turn down the 4 Seasons (also at Mandalay Bay).

DEFINITLY! let me know whenever you are in the mood to come down here - one of my friends' friend was getting married so he had his bachelor party out here and they all got a room at the new mandalay bay hotel - CRAZY. absolutley gorgeous! Yeah - it is too bad about the Aladdin - its a very nice place, inside and and out, and its sad thats its going down the way it is
But let me know when and if you come here, we'll do the whole GC hook up thing, sounds good to me!
