Well my BFs a Sigma Nu, and though the snake is one of their symbols, their house mascot when he first pledged was a dog named Emtae. Don't think too hard about that one.

I know that some Theta Chi's use the Ox has their mascot. Theta Chi's on my campus have a house dog (forgot it's name but it's huge! standing next to me it came up to my waist). My bf, a Theta Chi at a different school, they have no mascot.

I dated a Pike once, and he wouldn't tell me...he said it was a secret, so I didn't ask any more. Maybe he was pulling my leg.

He probably was ... there was a big story about it in their magazine (The Garnet and Gold I think it's called?) a few issues back. Mr. Ginger lets me read it - there's nothing secretive in there. Mainly just "look what our alumni did!" stories and interesting historical stuff.

There may be more to it that is secret, but I think the general story that I saw is ok for public knowledge.

Our unofficial mascot is the firetruck...Some chapters actually buy a firetruck and thats how the tradition started, a chapter bought a firetruck, drove it to nationals and that was that....Some use the dalmations cause it goes with the whole firetruck theme...We make pledges at my chapter carry around a toy firetruck while pledging and all the sorority girls try to steal it, its good times...

p.s. Garnet and Gold is our pledge book..Shield and Diamond is our national magazine...u can look up the firetruck story on our nationals site...www.pka.org

So you mean the story one of your brothers told me is a lie? You know, the one about how the Pikes at the University of Virginia saved all the KDs in the Great KD House Fire of 1933? They rushed into the burning building and carried all the KDs to safety...Don't tell me he was putting me on

I'm only kidding...it was a very cute story when the guy told me though, better than a standard pick up line!
