Given your hypothesis about his motivations, it still doesn't make sense that he wrote a nice book about Bush before. Even if that, too, was for money, how come he is only derided for being ever-so-greedy, when it is also coincidentally a negative book about Bush? I didn't hear y'all calling him money-grubbing when he was writing nice things for profit.

Bob Woodward = jackasshole, regardless of what he says about Bush.

Without Bob Woodward (and or course Carl Bernstein), we probably would think that Richard Nixon was a real honest guy.

Woodward is a journalist. He apparantely did lots of interviews, and you can be sure he took notes and confirmed his facts with at least two or three sources.

So, what we have is two way finger pointing between two groups who really have the public's trust...

Reporters and Politicians.

I haven't read Woodward's latest, but several who have say it gives a pretty good and fair account of Bush and his advisors.

In his interviews, however, Woodward has dissed and lied - even about what is in the book.

It'll be good for the future to have this close-up look at the pre-war discussions and actions.
