Tropical Punch!

Side note: As I pondered over this question, I asked my friend (who is African American by the way)what her favorite flavor is and she responded "I never had Kool-Aid before".

KNOWING she has to be joking, I ask her brother the same question.
"Kool-Aid??" he replies Completely BEWILDERED. "You mean the juice that comes in the pack? No, I don't think I've ever had that."

WTF?!?

And just when you think you really know people!

Does anybody else notice that the only advertisement for Kool-Aid seems to always be directed towards black people. Like we are the only people who drink it.
But to comment on what Sexy Mocha said there are some of us who haven't experienced everything that other people may have experienced in "the hood", but let it be known that I myself am a product of the burbs and I LOVE KOOL AID!!

See Soror, they may not have known Kool-Aid, but that "other" brand, cheaper than Kool-Aid, with the boy and girl on the cover (I think).

You could get 10 pkgs of KA for $1, but that other brand you could get 20 pkgs for $1. That's probably what they were used to. LOL

That's It!

You would be referring to the cheap, powdery, FLAVOR-AID...which was very popular in my house...I never understood why my grandmother just didn't buy Kool-Aid they were both cheap but then again we also had ice milk instead of ice cream...oh well

Soror, you may have something here! I think I do remember a few packets of FlavorAid floating around in her kitchen. LOL!
In my opinion, FlavorAid could NEVER compare to the real stuff. But what do people expect...it did cost like $1 for 215 packs.

Alias_01,I have wondered myself why the commercials always showed black families. Don't white folks drink Kool-Aid? Is it a "black thang"? I'm surprised Rikki Lake doesn't have those white girls in her new commercials ("White women who act Black")drinking a pitcher of "red" Kool-Aid.

I love the tropical punch and strawberry-lemonade.

I remember me and my classmates getting in trouble when in elementary and
junior high for sneaking powdered kool-aide in class. Some of the ummmm... less
urban classmates did not know that they were supposed to add sugar to the
powder! Where's that sour smiley? That's close enough I guess.

The Project Mix...

Grape kool-aid with lemon slices!! If I couldn't have that, I always had to have pink lemonade.

Mmmmm.... Pink lemonade.

ROFLMAO... "White people who drink Kool-Aid... on the next Maury".

And co-sign on Flavor-Aid. I don't know what was more disappointing as a kid: seeing Flavor-Aid or Wylers in the grocery bags.

What kind of fresh h*ll is this? Blue cherry kool-aid? Okay, we have a cherry tree outside my apartment building, and I have yet to see a blue cherry. Black, yes. Green, sure - when they're unripe. But BLUE? Kids must have weird taste-buds.
