Ditto.
That is probably the easiest way.

so true, soror. when i was in school, i would get offended that the only time we were asked to participate, we were being asked to step! no one would recognize all of the wonderful programs we were doing and ask us to help them organize a fashion show or a gala or a program series or whatever...just wanted us to STEP! so we didn't get involved with a lot of other campus activities.

Did anyone ever think that maybe the NPHC groups developed conflicts such as other planned events or scheduling changes with their individual orgs or the NPHC (ie conferences, conventions, workshops, etc)?

DeltaSigStan, have you recieved any responses from the chapters on your campus? I would be interested in the responses or lack thereof that you received.

I agree with the statements that the other women have made. Have you tried to understand what's going with the NPHC, and why they aren't participating?

I'm glad that your school invited them to participate. On my campus, NPHC and latino GLOs aren't invited to participate in any events, so we usually do alternative events with the African American Learning Resource Center and Black Student Union.

So say you do an event with an NPHC sorority...

Do all the old 50 something year olds come out for this?

This always happens at Iowa State, unfortunately. A NPHC always joined a traditional CPC/IFC pairing in Homecoming and Greek Week, maybe just to get their name out? But ended up they have never done anything, not only Lip Sync or tournaments, but also Polar Bear Plunge/penny war/blood drive, which brought the whole pairing down because of it.
I'm not saying that ALL NPHC is like that, but it put them on the spotlight when only one NPHC group joined in pairings in EVERY Homecoming and Greek Week, and ended up same story every time.

It happened to us at Homecoming last year, we were paired up with a particular NPHC. If a house of a pairing decided not to be actively involved in events, of course the result was that the whole pairing didn't place anything; I'm sorry to say that it seems that your pairing is condemned if you are paired with them.
Now, we are wondering why nobody wants to pair up with them, which unfortunately happens to be NPHC. Aren't we all Greek together?

The NPHC liason even never showed up at the Greek Week Central meeting, even though he was the Central committee and I was tired of seeing his name on every Central List because he didn't do sh*t, and still got his name out as if he did something.

This year on Greek Week, one NPHC told us that they wanted to do a step show in front of highschool potential members, so we advertised it at our flyers, tried to make it big and what not. Last minutes, they told us that they were not interested to do that anymore.

Just sharing several experiences, hope it will improve next time soon.

Members of the NPHC have been involved in Greek Council pretty much here. They have made some good suggestions while being involved with the planning of Greek Week and Greek Fest. Plus, some of the IFC and PHC have supported various progrmas given by the NPHC, most recently, Alpha Phi Alpha's Fraternity/Sorority Chairity Basketball Game.
