The Happy Birthday Mr. President dress (that was white and super tight) -Today's size 8. Don't get me wrong, there were times when she was bigger, her weight went up and down like a yo-yo. Also, in comparison to today's tiny actors and actresses MM looks like a whale!(Even though she wasn't.)

I mean, don't get me wrong, her childhood may NOT have been the best & she died a sad, lonely, & unnatural death...but, dag...she was living FOUL (I mean, she REALLY played herself at JFK's birthday party).
What you dish out is almost ALWAYS guaranteed to come back to you! And, she had the nerve to want to be taken seriously as an actress....ACK!
Sorry...I had to vent...cuz she didn't add one iota to the betterment of the world (other than T&A, as many men will argue) ...
Why don't they go on & on about Paul Robeson?? Sheeeesh!

she may have been living "foul" but it was only because she was lost...the entertainment industry can be very brutal...they take an "innocent" country girl and make her into a sex bomb and with no direction she is just supposed to be the epitome of "rightness"? don't think so...i think she probably wanted to be taken seriously as a human being...not as an actress...sometimes people forget that celebrities are still human...and hurt just the same as you...only they have to do it publicly...she added betterment to MY life...a black woman...just as did dorothy, billy, and phyllis...in seeing her misfortune...the path she took...i can avoid her pitfalls...and see in me the warning signs that have the potential to lead me down that same very sad and tragic path...people glamorize with no thought to the sad reality of her situation...they say she was a slut instead of she was searching for something she thought could be found in having multiple sex partners...she was a drunk and a druggy instead of she was trying to dull the pains of her reality...it is all very sad and tragic...her being white does not negate that fact...
why not check out this link...and then see if you can still be so quick to judge the dead... http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/2318/

Well why was it when they had an auction of her belongings, her dresses ranged from size 7 to size 14? Marilyn had some chunky moments and if you're saying that a size 12 is equivalent to today's size 8, than her size 7 would be the same as today's size 3, hmmm--I don't think so!!! Most of her clothes were tailored to fit her anyway. Even in her teenage years, she didn't look like a size 3...too much T & A!!! And I LOVE Marilyn!!! I have just about every book written about her, and I own every movie she starred in. But on the size issue, I'm gonna have to agree with my girl "Exquizit"!!!

Well, I saw the preview auction too on the Today show! That is where I actually heard about the dress size issue. Granted I may be wrong about which end the chart goes but it doesn't matter because it really is not that serious Anyway, as I mentioned before, I'm a very big fan of Marilyn as well.
But 30 repeats of the same person (Elvis ) every year becomes tiring!

Exquizit and THICKNCHOCLATE Ok, I take you two are friends. Round of applause, the two tag-team chicks beat me on the three count over some other women's size.
Exquizit-"That's ma DAWG!!! I love my Sfs"
By the way, I thought that every female on this forum who was not a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, were sisterfriends?
See you on another post.

Ania relax girl!!! Dang. I did say I love my Sfs and I do, but I hadn't talked with her for a while....(not that that needed clarification)...Humor and sarcasm are a part of me and my posts ALWAYS since you've been posting for a while I thought you'd realize this. Tell me my dear SF.....If this isn't an issue for you why reply? Better yet forgive me if you felt like I was picking on you or that I wasn't including you in my "love" for my Sfs...we simply had different opinions on this SIMPLE issue......

Ania, girlie...don't act!!! All of us nonmembers are sisterfriends and that includes YOU!!! I took this whole MM size issue as a friendly debate, it was not my wish to offend you or anyone else! Besides, we (sisterfriends) have more important issues to be concerned about. So get a grip and don't trip!!! I love all my SFs the same!!! Trust me, when YOU have an opinion that I agree with, I will have your back 110 percent. You feel me?

[b] Your both right! I'm wrong When I came back and re-read my post (which I typed around lord knows at what time in the morning). I thought, "What is my problem?" It is because I have been up 3 days straight(w/tiny naps) getting ready for my trip to Asia this weekend. Thank you both so much for the love and putting me in check!
