The first thing I did as a soror was go to my chapter meeting. I was SO overwhelmed! The first big thing I went to was the "Great" Great Lakes Regional Conference last month.
I'm now looking forward to Boule 2002.

The VERY first thing I did was cry like somebody stole something from me! The next was to hug my ship (that's sands/line sister for you non-Midwesterners) and try to feel my way around to hug other SORORS (my eyes were very watery). Then, after our luncheon, I had to hug my one and only ship/sands/ls goodbye, as she was heading home to TX with her dad that same day (can you believe we crossed like, on the very last possible day of school?--talk about suspense). Then I went partying with my non-greek girls in Chicago that night. It wasn't fun though, cuz they weren't feeling why I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pumped!
Of course, I called my two girls from high school to say "hey sands" to them, since we had all gone out for AKA the same semester. One of my girls, though, had to address me as "big sister", since she was still on line. I was expecting a SKEEEEEEEEEEEEE WEEEEEEEEEEEE from her, but she had to wait her turn (don't worry, she crossed a few days later).
I'm getting misty and saying a silent SKEEEEEEEE WEEEEEEEEEEEE just thinking about the memory!

Discogoddess i can definetly relate to crossing on the last possible day b/c we had our coming out show on the last day a reading day and the next day kicked off finals.... isn't it funny you work hard for something you really want AKA .... and then i had turn around and work equally as hard for those good grades... no need in becoming an AKA today and then be force to sit and watch all the activities from the backgroud b/c your grades didn't "cross" when u did...
PEACE, ONE LOVE
SKEEEEEEEE WEEEEEEEEE
i SKEE WEE every chance i get ive truly earned the right.....

First thing I did was cry my eyes out, hug my sands and prophytes, then I Skee-Weee'd all the way home, slept-and woke up about two days later to attend my chapter meeting.

To be honest the first thing I did when I crossed was go home and do my hair and made sure I was crisp, clean and AKAfied for the next day. I also attended the NARC and it was stupendous, I got to meet Soror C. Edith Booker and I even got to hug Soror Norma S. White. I was to happy. I also broke the bank on all the para I bought. I couldn't eat for like a week.

The first thing I did was open gifts. Then I went to a party where my line sisters and I strolled all night long non stop. It really sunk in that I was truely a member of Allllllpha Kappa Allllllpha Sorority, Inc. when I atended my first chapter meeting about a week later.

I hugged my sands as many of us cried. I love them. Then let out an earth shaking Skeeeeeee-Weeeeee!. My voice was so sour the next day from skee-weeing so much.
Then I opened all of my lovely gifts from sorors and family @ our crossing luncheon. I had so much stuff it took 2 cars to get it all home.
Next I put my AKA tag on my truck.
The next BIG event for me was being step master for the chapter to prepare for the regional conference. I was sooo honored being a neo. Of course I'm no fool, I asked for guidance from the seasoned Sorors. It was a wonderful experience.

Let out a loud SKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, hugged my ISM and then SET IT OFF, after all the fun I went home and went to sleep, then went to my first party as a greek!!!!!!!
Didn't really get to experience being on Campus as an AKA until we got back for the fall semester 2000

The first thing i did after i crossed was found me a quiet place and thanked God for blessing me. I needed that quiet moment to let everything that had just happen completely sink in... Then i Skee Wee'd so loud i think i hurt something...lol! Hugs and tears all around and then went home and went to sleep ( I's tired!).
All though it seems small...I think working with some of the kids that I knew still in Hs and younger family member (who knew nothing about AKA) showing them how I (as an AKA) put in my time to help with community service was the greatest moment for me.

Hi Guys,
I know I'm late...the very first thing I did as a soror, was wear my sheild to Pappadeaux's y'all! There was no one else greek in sight, but I like crossed the day before, so I was proud. My 14 nephew reached over and said "Auntie, didn't you finish yesterday? Why are you wearing that today?" I felt SO STUPID, but I wore it anyway That was the best meal I ever had too!

The first thing that I did was to, upon the encouragement of my close soror friends, skee wee - I was too scared to do it w/out being coaxed! LOL Then I found some Visine and dropped it in my eyes b/c I had been crying like a baby and needed a refresher.
The first major things that I did was go to a committee meeting that week, celebrate my first Founder's Day a little over a month later, then attended my first Joint Founder's Day a week after that!
Skee-wee my sorors!!! Skee-wee! Skee-wee!

I had the same experience. The next week was final exam week. I had to wait until Winter quarter began before everyone could see me wearing my para. That's ok, the folk around town saw it! LOL
