I'm sick of winter!

Those "flurries" that Cream and mu_agd mentioned, were a little more than that in my part of Connecticut - like 4 inches. I telecommuted today... I may catch some flak from the boss tomorrow, but I'll be alive and well to hear it! Had a bad accident last winter, not anxious for a repeat performance.

More snow is falling now, and as of tomorrow we're back in the deep freeze. Lows are supposed to be below zero. LA is starting to sound very nice right about now...

I loved the snow until it caused me to crash into the neighbor's front yard, resulting in over $1000 damage on my poor little car!

Booo! I hate you, snow!

At 5:15 this morning as the alarm was going off I also heard the wonderful noises of snow being shoveled off the sidewalk. Wonderful if you like that "fingernails on the chalkboard" kinda noise.

And now during the commute home, it's trying to snow again!!

I want to fly south and wear my flips and very very badly.

Haha! This is so true...I was at work the other day and my co-worker from Kansas was laughing at me because I came in with a wool peacoat, a wool hat, a scarf, and mittens and it was only 46 degrees at 7:00am and was complaining that it was freezing. He laughed and said I didn't know cold until I had to cover your face to keep by frozen breath from damaging my lungs. It turned out to be a warm, sunny 70 degree day but anything below 60 is COLD for this born and bred L.A. girl!

So I woke up at 9am to get ready for class and it was snowing like a mother. Decided to just skip class since I only had one for an hour today.

It's now 12:30, and it hasn't let up. And why OH WHY is my dear UMD still open? Cuz even if the Regents ordered it closed, as did on 9-11, Dearborn will still stay open.

Glad I don't have to drive through this.

We haven't gotten new snow here (Chicago area) yet but it is a matter of time, I think.

PM_Mama00, I can relate...IU never, ever closed for weather or for 9/11 or anything. Ever. Even when everything else in the city or state was closed, IU was open.

Detroit area got between 5 and 9 inches today, depending on where you were. I'd say I cleaned off about 6 inches of snow off my car when I left work. I work a couple blocks from Wayne State University. Left work at 3:45, right about the same time that Wayne State closed. Read: Commuter college, everybody making a mass exodus out with 6 inches of snow on the roads. Took me 45 minutes to get to the freeway (usually a 5 minute deal). Took a total of 2 hours to make my usual 35 minute drive.

Pick up the kids from latch key and my son says "one of the kids in my class said the 's' word today!". I said "Snow?". He said, "NO, the REAL 's' word!". I told him "Snow IS the real S word honey".

I hate snow, I hate cold, I hate winter, I want to move to Hawaii.

Dee

There's probably 5 inches of snow on the ground already, and it's still coming down. Schools are all closed.

Guess who's telecommuting today...
