I received this email from a Soror who wrote to me regarding my mother. I thought I would share...you never know how you affect people. I had to call up my mother using my PEAK minutes to let her know this soror who she has not seen SINCE
1984* when she presented her with the scholarship. My mother is in the same city this week as this soror. Hopefully, my mother will contact her and reminisce, etc. etc....My mother isn't much for fanfare, so I'm not certain if she will take her up on her offer.

*ETA: It was in 1982 she received the Scholarship and 1984 when she became a soror.
Tell your mother I still have my letter framed from
when her Chapter gave me a scholarship before I
started school at Grambling. (SMILE!!) Tell her she
really made an impression on me when I was young and
they don't make them like her anymore. Tell her to
call me when she comes to the city and I am inviting
her to attend sorority meeting with me this Saturday.
I sure would like to introduce her as my hero.
