Thumbs up

I echo what ktsnake just said!

But, if there are cliques forming, that needs to be broken up as soon as posible, or that will spill over into the Active Chapter when they (?) are Initiated. You can run into real problems there.

With the Risk Management Regulations in place now, it is much harder to do any bonding, But Hazing is not The Answer.

What about "asking them if they wold like to be in charge of a project"?

Just tell them, that they all be graded on it, one by one for participation. Depending on the size of the class, maybe a Charity Event, an over all activity that Actives and Associates can participate in.

I and am sure many of us had GREATER ANSWERS FOR YOU!

The Initiation ranking for Badge Numbers is always a good one. Honor Associate, is a major thing, maybe not right now, but down the road! I know some of our members throw that up as they attain Alum status!

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia has a similar national examination requirement, excapt that a 100% score is required before a probationary member can proceed to initiation. (A PM can take the test again until he gets the 100% score). We also require, as do many fraternities, a "retention vote" just prior to initiation. Pledges (or whatever you may call them) need to be reminded that the brotherhood will consider their attitude and diligence during the pledge period when time for that retention vote comes. The flip side of that is that the brotherhood needs to be setting the example of good attitude and diligence.

I second (third?) the suggestion to contact ATO headquarters. Also, look around your campus and see what other chapters are doing that is working. Good luck!
