When I rushed at IU in the early 90s, everyone who signed up for rush got a little book which gave the guidelines for rush, rush tips, etc. Each sorority also had a page in the book...there was a bit about the history of the sorority, some facts, and a financial breakdown: what the dues were, what other fees you would pay, etc. It wasn't a big secret.

In Alpha Phi Omega, we paid dues each semester. The dues amount varied. I want to say it was like $40something a semester but I could be wrong.

I don't see why naglok needs to know the specifics of my chapter's dues or anyone else's. He/she isn't a new member looking for general information on how much dues cost. Instead, the question seems to me to be a lot like asking, "I make $___ a year; how much do you make?", which is a bit rude and not really his/her business.
To the people who say their dues aren't secret, no, mine aren't either. I'm sure you could find them on my school's Greek Life page, if you looked, and we make sure all potential new members know this information (since they actually have a good reason for knowing the costs), but I don't see the point of randomly posting it on a message board.

Thumbs up

Good Say!

There is NO lump sum! The National Dues are set!

What you do in the House is going to be different! Do you have a Meal plan for one. Usually the House Rent is Cheaper than renting from the School or in town, apartment! If not living in the House, do you have a Parlor Fee? That is for members who do not live in the house but use the House!!! Do they belong to the Meal Plan at the House? Most Meal plans do a Continentaql Breakfast with a dinner Mon/Thur. Some Students go home on the weekends or just decide to eat out or have dates!

It is hard to answer such a broad question such as this, but I think from the many posts, this may give you a better picture! If you rush, all of the facts will be presented!

If you people are getting offended by me asking how much your greek life costs you has some issues dealing with either

a) you are in a cheap greek scene

b) you are in an expensive one and dont want to seem like you are stuck up

Dont get so offended. If you dont want to respond - then dont. No one needs to know that you think this is a personal question.
