I just love this book!
I'm on chapter 69 right now. I haven't had much time read because I've been busy with work and other stuff. I read what I can on the subway every morning on the way to work and I read what I can on the way home.
I've asked for Angels and Demons for Christmas, so I'm hoping it's just as good as this one.

I love the Dan Brown books...
as someone else mentioned..you should read angels and demons too..its before the Da Vinci code, you should also print out a copy of the last supper painting and check it out as you read.
i also read his other code breaking books about the NSA...and others. forget the names at the moment, but I recommend them too!

Is that thing about "The Last Supper" really true?
Eta: his other books are "Deception Point" and "Digital Fortress"

Yeah, i finished Angels and Demons over Thanksgiving break.
That book is oustanding. Right up until the end, stuff keeps happening that just blindsides you. It was AWESOME!
I put the DaVinci Code on my Christmas list, i'm pretty sure my Mom will get it for me, i got her hooked on A&D before i was halfway through.

I have to say it sure does seem true. There is an extra hand with a knife that I can't figure out who it belongs to. The gesture across the throat does look threatening if you look at it in the context of what is said in DaVinci code. I must say it really has me thinking a bit more.

I looked at the painting myself yesterday, and if you look at "John"...let's just say I can see what he's talking about (I don't want to give too much away).
Or maybe it's because he's mentioned it that I am looking at the painting that way.
It would be interesting to read if anyone else has similar theories on "The Last Supper"

why don't you guys start a Da Vinci Code SPOILER thread so y'all don't accidentally ruin it for the rest of us?
That way, when i get it and finish it we can all discuss together.

You guys know that "The DaVinci Code" is a NOVEL right? As in fiction? As in made up for entertainment and not to be taken seriously? Just like the "X-Files"?

gee thanks for the tip.
You do realize that some of his book is based on historical fact and some theories.

Yes, I'm aware of the "facts" and "theories".
I just have an inherent suspicion of anything labeled a "religious thriller". Sometimes these fictions and "theories" and "conclusions" (not the same as facts) get incorporated into general thinking as actual facts, through sheer repetition. I consider this a bad thing.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Enjoy your reading.

Kind of like the good book, don't you think? How much of what is written is actually true?

I finished "Angels and Demons" last week. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time-- I thought the subject matter was much darker than DVC. Can't wait to read the next Robert Langdon book!

WORD.
By the way, why don't we just start posting spoilers here instead of starting a whole new thread, which can get confusing? If you're not finished reading the book, don't read past this point. Don't say we didn't warn ya.
