I <3 Iron Chef! It's so interesting to watch how these guys can think of a unique dinner without having a recipe and only having an hour to do all the preparation an cooking.

Tyler Florence is a cutie, but I have more of a thing for Jamie Oliver... I think it's the accent!

Did anyone watch the Halloween special where Emeril was doing recipes with all the different hosts? Rachel Ray was seriously nervous around him; it was very obvious.

GOOD EATS! GOOD EATS! GOOD EATS!

Like my sister, I *heart* Alton Brown. He turned me onto the joys of cooking with a cast iron skillet, and I'm going to brine a turkey this year. His DVD set is on my Christmas wish list.

Smartest and funniest show on Food Network!

I've gotta say, Iron Chef is by far my favorite. My boyfriend and I tape it when we know we're gonna miss it!

I love Iron Chef! Chef Sakai is my very fave. I liked the episode with Bobby Flay (whom I also love), but thought he was a little disrespectful when he stood up on the counter. I want an Iron Chef apron for Christmas. My friends all call me Iron Chef, because I watch it so much.

Other favorites on the food network include Emeril, Tyler, and the Barefoot Contessa lady (but only because she reminds me of my aunt). Rachel Ray is a little annoying at times, but I think she means well and I like a lot of her 30 min. meal dishes.

Some strong dislike towards: Alton Brown, Jamie Oliver, Sara's Secrets, Molto Mario, Al Roker on the Road (he can't eat any of the stuff - it's like a personal torture show, I fee so bad for him!)

When I do watch TV Food Network is definitely one of my main stopping points...

Gotta love Iron Chef: It's like sports and cooking combined into one hour of awesomeness
On a scale of 1 to incredibly awesome it definitely ranks a strong 72.5...maybe even "rocks really really good"

I also like Unwrapped, Emeril, and I think Good Eats is my absolute favorite...not really sure why though.

Now *here's* a topic I can talk about!!

My [biological] sister is a professional 5-star chef and you better believe that we had FoodTV on practically 24/7!

My favourite shows are:

Unwrapped -
this show is way cool! It just........is.

Iron Chef -
I like the shows that have Iron Chef Japanese (Morimoto) and Iron Chef Chinese (Kinichi). Since my sister specialises in asian-fusion cuisine, we watched this one non-stop. I liked hearing the judges comments...especially when they translated to English funny.

Good Eats -
Alton Brown rocks!!!!!!! I think he's very funny and clever. He presents everything in an interesting yet informative way.

Pretty good shows are:

The Best of -
this one can have some really neat tidbits!

Molto Mario specials -
I'm not sure which of his shows it is, but I liked the ones where Mario and his friend go to Italy to see how cheese/salami/olives/whatever are made. I find Mario's regular shows boring, but he and his friend are pretty funny when they do the Italy specials.

$40 a Day - I have to state upfront that I just saw this show for the first time last week. The one episode I saw was the Kona, Hawaii one. Okkkkkkkk...... what's up with this girl? She spent so much money for breakfast and lunch that she only ate an appetizer for dinner (like, 4 potstickers). My sister and I were laughing about it. My sister said "Forget that! Girl, I could eat on $10 a day!"

Top 5 - Like "The Best of" this one can be kinda neat. It's a nice break from watching cooking, cooking, cooking.

Shows I just don't like -

Anything with Bobby Flay - That's a statement, not the name of a show. Really. I just don't like that man at all! He has a bossy, arrogant and know-it-all attitude about him. He was so incredibly rude and disrespectful at the Iron Chef appreances. So, so disrespectful. His behaviour made me feel ashamed to be an American.

Emeril Live - We used to really love Emeril when he had his first show (the one before his live show. Then, he was even cooler when he did the live show. Though, I think he started to get way too flashy and showy. Now I don't like it at all. We are so over Emeril.

The Naked Chef - Jamie Oliver is nice in a way, but I just can't get into his food. It's like every show is about his friends coming over or something so he needs to "whip up" a 5-star snack.

So there ya go! We also liked watching Two Fat Ladies; though, one of the ladies passed away.

Thanks cash for posting a nice topic - I really appreciate it!

.....Kelly

I love the follow Food TV shows:

Good Eats - Alton Brown is informative and makes each episode entertaining.

$40 a Day - I like how Rachel Ray tries to stay within budget (occasionally she goes overboard).

Anything Tyler Florence - he is a hottie.

Passion for Dessert/Chocolate - I love chocolate, enough said!

I guess I'm in the minority here, because I LOVE Rachael Ray!

Some of my favorite shows are:

- Cooking Thin. I'm always looking for inspiration on my weight loss journey, and I find quite a lot in this show.

- 30 Minute Meals. I love Rachael Ray, and how she actually cooks. Its nice to see someone actually have to open cans and chop veggies, instead of having it all pre-done by the staff and laid out in little bowls.

- Unwrapped. I love getting to see behind the scenes on how food is made.

- Top 5. With shows like the Top 5 flaming foods, its hard not to love it.

- All of the random specials covering food events, like chili cook-offs and apple festivals.

Shows I don't watch:

- Emeril. I just don't see what the big deal is with him.

- Iron Chef. I absolutely hate this show. THe voice overs are annoying, the food is bizarre, and the premise makes no sense.

IRON CHEF ROCKS!

Actually, Chairman Kaga is a fantastic singer-he was the first Japanese:

Tony (West Side Story)
Valjean (Les Miserables)
Jesus (Jesus Christ Superstar)

I also like Unwrapped, Food 911, and Emeril (who cooks good Cajun for being a Yank. )

Speaking of hotties on Food TV, has anyone seen Paula Dean's sons? They are gorgeous!!! Her show is pretty amusing, too.

One of my new least favorite shows is the Semi-Homemade show. Sandra Lee (I think that's her name) is seriously annoying.
