Maybe it was written by a metrosexual man?

It was written on a non-university web site. It is on a VERY popular message board however. There are over 11000 web site members from the campus community. However, the web site is NOT moderated for the most part - having this post removed would be very very hard. The whole point of the board is a free-speech outlet for the campus community. You have to register a user name and the user that made this comment is well known on the boards. It's like a little community...just like on here...but even more so because many people know each other in person as well.

is this on Daily Jolt? if you have to register a name they should have a moderator to get rid of things like this.

another school had probs with anti-greek postings, slurs etc so they really cracked down.

It's not the jolt...it IS a NCSU community web page, but the university has nothing to do with it. It was a spawn of a senior engineering project that grew to enormous numbers. There are moderators, but their job is not to take things down when people get mad...it's to take things down that are absolutely disgusting (think: pornographic images are okay, but like real life severed head bodies aren't - usually). They are really big on the free speach thing - "it's just the internet" - they don't think people really get their feelings hurt. There are some real jerks on the boards...such as this guy.

I'm an alumni of NCSU and a member of this message board also. I actually saw this post and you have to realize that most of the people don't know alot about the greek system. even if they are in greek orgs as well they get their info all screwed up! a lot of people on the site in general bash the greek community...i think it's the whole sterotype of greeks in general b/c the Greek System at NCSU is fabulous at least to me it is. I worked in the GL office my last 2yrs. at State and the Greeks that met through that were all very nice, get a crazy during PA Recruitment but that's to be expected with as much as they all do.

In general, it was disrespectful what he said and all and shows that he does not even know about the GC in which he is apart of.

The post more than likely won't be removed or anything since it is unmoderated and all like CJ said.

We just have to hope that everyone is as ignorant and try to rise about it all.

It could actually get removed, I lived with the guy who runs the website's future sister in law and his fiancee was my RA. However, its not that big of a deal to ask them to do it though.
The guy is dumb and just needs a serious lesson on etiquette and how to present your chapter in the best manner. I actually think he is the President this year.
I know my President would seriously have a talk to anyone that said anything nasty about other groups.

He is registered on the site and also has Fraternity photos up and of himself. You can also check the IP address of the posts.

Which is all the more reason to have your dad write a letter to his Nationals. I certainly would in this case. There's no excuse for this kind of bashing. Really bad news.

While I agree that his letter should be somewhat dispassionate, I'd be sure that the executive staff of the fraternity knows that he is not happy with this.

It really does make the chapter and thus the fraternity look real bad.

You should definitely have your dad write that letter, if for nothing more than to show that particular chapter their shortcomings in membership. Who would want to portray their beloved organization as complete chauvanistic jerks?

You say he posted that on the website? You mean the NCSU website?? Maybe you could get it taken off whatever board he posted that on?

Good luck from a fellow Carolina girl!

Trust me when I say that there are A LOT worse things on this NCSU student message board. I am shocked and appalled on the regular.

I say "get over it."

Are you going to call in the "National Guard" everytime someone has something negative to say?

I'm sure there are other battles that need such reinforcement, this isn't one of them.

definitely let the school and the fraternity know.
This is on our message board.

Students post all sorts of crap about all sorts of THINGS and PEOPLE (offensive things about professors and departments at the University). If the school is going to start censoring this board, they should've done so A LONG time ago for other topics.

If the school is going to censor EVERYTHING on that board...fine (there goes freedom of speech, too, though). But, to make this particular incident of such importance that it sparks censorship of this board...that is ridiculous.

I don't really see why the original poster gave the specifics regarding the school's name, either.
