I do the same things.....and music definitely calms me down as does venting to myself before I call others to listen to me..
I try to avoid the person I am mad at for awhile for fear I will do something or say something not so nice........
Also, if I see my nieces and nephews or any sweet little children that will calm me down also.............
When I get a headache due to being upset, I am beyond mad......
