Wow, I didn't know that a guy trying to catch a foul ball could shake up the confidence of a professional baseball team to the point where they play the remaining outs like shat and lose the game. It was in the stands and it could have been playable but it wasn't fan interference. Cubs fans need to quit scapegoating this poor guy and cowboy the funk up and realize that hey, the Cubbies bombed at the end, done and done. Had that ball been out of Alou's reach nothing would have been said about it but because there was a person there it is so much easier to place blame.
Let's recap shall we?
- Alou doesn't catch the foul ball and Castillo gets another chance and is walked - good job Prior.(pitch was wild and Pierre gets to third.
- Pudge breaks one into left on an 0-2 pitch which produces an RBI (Pierre) I think.
Ok, so the score is 3-1 in favor of the Cubs, they still have the game, it should be butter, it should still be over.
-We now have runners on both first and second. Cabrera hops it to Gonzo which SHOULD have been a double play that ended the inning. Yea, that's right, oops go to Gonzo on that one.
-Prior pitches to Lee who rocks a two-run double and ties the game. (looks like Prior was slipping something fierce).
-Good old Dusty brings in Farnsworth who intentionally walked Mike Lowell. (I have a major problem with this, you have a fresh arm out on the mound and instead of giving him the heat you intentionally walk him? FRESH ARM.)
- A sacrifice fly brings the game to 4-3 in favor of the Marlins.
-YET another intentional walk on Hollandsworth which loads the bases for Mordecai, who just rocks a horrid-like tre-run double off the wall in center/left-center field.
-Finally, Pierre blazes another hit (second of the inning I think) which brings the score to 8-3 in favor of the Marlins.
The fan had nothing to do with it.
