I feel bad for the guy. I think he is wrong and pig headed and arrogant and oppionated and bit self deluded, but I feel really, really bad for him. I'm quitting smoking and its hell, it must be a million times harder for him to just stop taking pain killers. When I go off my medication I always get kind of nutsy, I can only imagine what his must be like.

So are Donovan McNabb and Kordell Stewart. LOL.

Re Kordell S, he dealt with a lot of shit while he was here. Was some of it racial? Yes, I'm sure. Was some of it just because he was reaching beyond his limits? Yes, I'm sure. If he hadn't been so dead set on playing QB, I think things would have worked out better. Then there were the infamous Schenley Park rumours and I don't even wanna go there.

Re oxycontin, that shit is just plain evil. You KNOW it's bad when people are doing heroin because they can't get their hands on Oxycontin!!!!

Re Rush, the thing about him that always drove me nuts is he would say something really cool and insightful, but not stop - he'd take it up to the next level and end up sounding like a jerk. Quit while you are ahead, Rush.

I thought people started doing Oxy because they couldn't get their hands on the real heroin and morphine. I saw a documentary of a heroin addict coming off of that stuff in rehab. It was enough to make me never want to try heroin in any form. I already have an addictive personality, I can only imgaine the type of crackhead I'd become if I ever got on that crapp.

Um, it didn't take this. All he has to do is open his mouth!

Libertarians aren't about "everyone is responsible for his/her actions" (actually I think most political doctrines subscribe to this in some way, but not as a fundamental belief), they believe that the government should not have interference in daily life and that its only purpose is to protect people from outside enemies. Just had to set the record straight!

"Put not your faith in princes."

My experience with "personalities" as well as politicians -- and, for that matter, the rest of life is simply that anything that seems too good to be true, generally is.

I think Rush is a dolt -- same thing I would think of a "liberal" counterpart if there was one.

near my hometown, Oxy was prescribed pretty freely (before its dangers were fully known) to retired coal miners, steel workers etc dealing with pain, and these guys have some serious pain. They got hooked, as did their curious children and grandchildren who thought it would be fun to experiment. Of course, once people realized what was going on prescriptions became harder to get and street drugs were actually easier to obtain. There was never a real problem with heroin in the area until OxyContin appeared.

I don't think that most political doctrines suscribe to it in some way. Democrats, for example, think the people should carry the load if someone else screws up or can't. And if you don't, the people will rise up against you....That seems to be my understanding after talking to many of them, two ex-senators included ( they were ousted by republicans). I don't know about you, but I don't want my hard earned taxes going to help support some woman who keeps plopping out babies that she can't afford to have or to someone who is too lazy to go out and get a job.

But you are right about the other statement on protecting people from outside enemies, just to set the record straight.

Generalization? After talking to many members of the democratic party that is the common belief I find them all to carry. Would you care to discuss what you find them to believe?

WTF is up with GC?

Certain words won't post. When I type the word "o.v.e.r.r.a.t.e.d. ", it only posts "ove".
