Actually there may be a valid way to stop this monument...

Since that close-minded piece-of-sh** counterfeit Christian is trying to use Shepherd's name and picture, he stands a good chance of losing a lawsuit.

There are legal doctrines that protect your right to your name and image. For example, there was a case I read in my first year of law school from the late 1800s or early 1900s, where a clothing store was prohibited from using the name and picture of a society lady who had a reputation of being very fashionable. The reasoning was that the lady hadn't given the store permission to use her name or image to promote their products.

Likewise, neither Shepherd nor his estate (his family) have given Phelps permission to use his name and picture. The law protects us from others using our identities to promote products or ideas that we don't support.

Who's working on the legal challenge to the monument? Sign me up - I'll help!

I second that. Also, I wonder if they could make a case for defamation? They're making that statement as if it were fact--not an opinion....just a thought.
