I'm married to a former Toledo Area Student Council Queen. Well, also Prom Queen, etc. But I didn't know her then.

Actually, there are several things I might mention, but the thing that stands out most in my memory is directing the live world-wide pool telecast of a Papal Prayer Vigil and a Papal Mass the next day at World Youth Day in Denver. The fact that I'm a Presbyterian makes it more memorable.

I'm almost sure I mentioned this on another thread, but I was the youngest delegate to a Democratic National Convention. A news team followed me everywhere, and I ended up being on NBC News and in Time (for "the youth vote"). I also met a ton of political celebrities, went out with the son of a President, and was on the Presidential Advance Team.

The fact that I am now a Republican makes it all the sweeter! I've often thought that, come the right year, it would be interesting to go to the Republican National Convention for comparison's sake. But I'm not that involved with politics anymore.

That's the biggest (so far! )

I was an extra in the movie "Mo' Money". I had three words--two of them profanities. I'm thankful now that my comments were edited, but I'm still in the film.

I was in the locker room with the press right after the Chicago Bulls won their 2nd championship--got champagne poured on my head and everything.

My sister and I met OJ Simpson and Nicole at a party. He gave me the creeps and I told my sister as we walked away from him, "I wouldn't be surprised if that man ax-murdered his family one day."

Surreal. Truly surreal.

My claim to fame is that I starred in a Children's Theater play when 7 or 8. Oh, and my dad drove Colonel Sanders' (Yes, the real Col. Sanders of KFC Fame!) in the Pegasus Parade.

mine is a cute story:

i'm a tour guide here at beloit, and once i was giving this tour, when all of a sudden one of the moms asks me if i'm "the girl from the brochure". i had no idea what she was talking about and told her that no, it wasn't. but then, when we got back to the admissions office, i went to look, and sure enough, my photo is used in one of our recruiting brochures!! i didn't know i was being sent out to thousands of people each year

other claims to fame:

tom brokaw did a dateline special on schools that work, and mine was one of the ones featured. (this was four years ago?)

editor of the fourth oldest college newspaper in the nation, at least as far as we've confirmed so far

and proud owner of the cutest darn belly button in the world!!

I'm in a bunch of pics used in my school's slide show for new students.

I was in the audience of the Price is Right when one of my sorority sisters won a mini van and a refrigerator!!
*You know the part where the put the address to write to for free tickets, well on that taping it was a close up of me and one other sister smiling really really big like idiots!*

I have been in the paper lots of times because I played 3 sports in high school. I also was in the paper a few times for some featured stuff that was at my school when I was younger.

I also was on the news when I was 6 because I won 'the twist and shout contest' at the fair. I guess I was the youngest person on stage. I even showed off my talent for the camaras afterwards in an interview hee hee. oh well

My picture from a Sept 11 memorial service at our school was featured on the President of my college's Christmas card that year and on the cover of the alumni magazine the next quarter. I was wearing a bid-day shirt but you can't see it in the pic.

I'm on the left

In fitting fashion, a member of my family tree was on the cover of the next issue.

* Chalk me up as another one in their school's brochures. Lol, i'm in the centerfold of the Pitt admissions book. Knew i'd be a centerfold one day Knowing Pitt, they'll be using those promo materials for years to come. When the kids at home get their viewbooks from Pitt, all of the parents end up calling my mom and asking if that's me.
* Freshman year of HS my HS marching band was on Good Morning America on Labor Day. You could see me jumping around with my mellophone. I almost nailed the camera guy because he got in the way. I've also been on the local news various times b/c of band.
* Another band story- during a Steelers game my band played, and there was a close up on my face for like 10 seconds that apparantly aired on the broadcast, not just on the jumbotron. I had no clue there was even a camera guy near me until I got home and heard all about it.
* Been on the local news a couple of times in high school, was interviewed a few times
* Was on NASA TV in HS b/c I was part of a group that did a lot of work with NASA and we visited there quite a few times.

Yeah, so nothing else cool

*My dad was the drummer in a relatively well-known band that a lot of really old-school rockers from the 60's midwest still remember.

It's old folklore that the movie "That Thing You Do" was very loosely based on my dad's band. That would have made my dad "Shades". Haha. Which could have been true considering my dad ALWAYS wore sunlgasses when he was hitting the skins.

*I've been on the TV news and in the newspaper quite a few times due to my involvement both as a camper and volunteer counselor at camps for kids with cancer.

*I was a contestant and member of the Project Greenlight contest and spoke with Ben Affleck a few times.
