Your friends are being jerks. Next time they ask you to do anything nice for them, remind them how shabbily they treated you on your special day.
On a positive note, Birthday Wishes and hopefully you'll have a little bit of good cheer.

Hey girl--
Dont' fret- I started a "Happy shitty birthday" to me thread, and sounded way more pathetic than you.
You sound like a kick ass person, honestly, and I know this isn't worth much to you now, but unless its your 21st its not that big of a loss.....you have a lifetime of birthdays and something tells me that tomorrow will be a better day.
Have an awesome night, I hope it gets better

Thank you guys, you're the best. I really appreciated all of that and I'm sorry if I was a downer for everyone's day. Mine is getting a little better, and will be MUCH better after I get a a bottle of Malibu... jk
As for everyone sucking really bad- the boy actually called me and told me he had to visit his homesick little sister in Santa Barbara (she just moved there and I know they're really close), and my other friends have been getting a huge guilt trip, so I'll most likely see them later.
Thanks again for all the good karma!

Happy birthday! Glad to hear its getting better.
At least no one ate your birthday cake without you. (My fiance's mother has eaten his birthday cake before he's gotten any for the last TWO years! The rule is, if you're name is on the cake, you get first dibs at it!)

Glad things are looking up ...
What you need next is a "Happy Unbirthday," the day when everthing goes great. Happy Unbirthday is a lot better than an unhappy birthday.

I didn't even get a birthday cake! We were going to pick up an ice cream cake last night, but by the time we left from dinner both Baskin Robbins and Cold Stone were closed! Eh, I don't need the cake anyways...
But yes, things did look up a lot last night, esp. during and after dinner with a couple of my friends. One of my boys knew the waiters at the restaurant we went to and one got us a table without having to wait the hour long wait. He was hot, he hung out with us after he got off work, and now this cute boy and I have plans to go out this week... so that made it all better. My boy Chris definitely had the best birthday gift for me... hot waiter.

Sounds like the hot waiter was worth waiting for (really poor joke)
Glad your birthday turned out better than expected.
