You think Somalia was bad and Iraq is good? lol Why is helping one country good and one bad? Because Somalia doesn't have oil or because they are an african country?
No we are not going to convince each other, but most resonable people know I am right.

I still don't get why lying about getting bjs from an intern under the White House desk is worse than lying about having evidence that WMD were in Iraq so we could invade it.
In Clinton's case: the only casualties were his marriage and Monica's reputation. In Bush's the casualty list already tops at least 6000 innocent Iraqi civilians, not to mention plenty of our soldiers.
Can somebody please explain that one to me? Honestly, I've asked it way too many times over the past few months and never gotten an answer.

BECAUSE... $87 billion will get you an oil pipeline from Afghanistan to Iraqi faster...
My issue is will our Military Personnel in the trenches of Iraq really get to see the $66 billion that is alloted to them???
'Cuz if not, I can think of better infrastructure restructuring devices than building an oil pipeline...
Like, how many "daisy wheel bombs" can one buy for $87 billion???
Like, how many ICBM's nukes can one buy from N. Korea for $87 billion?
Man, I'm gonna be pissed if $87 billion puts Direct TV satellite broadband cable into these lusers huts...
But, wait, that might be a good thing for the American Propagandist...
Hmmmm...

HOw many convictions did Clinton's admin have? One. How many did Regan's have? I think it was over 400 but it was at least 361.

Actually, Eisenhower started American involvement in Vietnam. Ever heard of the Battle of Dienbienphu? It was in May 1954, while JFK didn't take office until January 1961. True, the Democrats who were in office during the conflict didn't pull the troops out--but public support of the war was at a high until about 1968, when America finally realized the depths of our involvement in the war. Who was elected then? Nixon. So, the removal of troops and Vietnamization of the war was done under Nixon, but had just as much to do with the fact that the American people were fed up with seeing body bags on the news.
I'm not saying what you believe is right or wrong--you're entitled to your opinion, and I mine. But, if you're going to make blanket statements, it's probably best that you have the correct information.

Actually, the first American "observers" were likely sent by Eisenhower.

You were probably posting this as I was writing mine pointing out the Eisenhower involvement.
However, I have to point out the the French, not the US were defeated at Dien Bien Phu. That battle is why they finally gave up after years of war in "French Indochina," as Viet Nam was known for many years.
When the French finally pulled out, it left the vacum that we were sucked into.
As for Nixon getting us out of the war -- he really had no choice. He followed the same path as Johnson (And Kennedy, although he really didn't serve long enough for the war to reach it's peak). In fact, he (Nixon) really escalated the bombing and also incursions into neighboring countries.
At the point that we disengaged, American public opinion was so anti-war that he really had little or no choice.
