functioning with out a "house"...
Let me tell you, its not easy! And its a BIG part of the reason that the ADPi numbers are so low. All of the other NPC's on campus have beautiful houses and most have very high numbers (think over 100 when ADPI is less than 20).
Yep...EXTREMELY hard to function. There aren't any rules about having to have a house. We had weekly meetings in the Student Union. Most Deltas held and exec office as well as other non-exec office. At one time I was New Member Coordinator, Membership Education Vice President, a Pride Leader, a Diamond Sister, and Scholarship Chair.
Its very stressful and I think that contributes to the retention issues. Alot of times it felt more like a job that I was paying someone to "let" me do. Because of how small we are in comparison to other NPCs on campus, we aren't able to fully particiapte in Formal Rectruitment and are forced to rely on COR which is difficult to do.
Basically the low number demands that everyone participates in everything or it doesn't happen.
Its sad I know, but I often feel like I am still waiting to just relax and enjoy the benefits of our sisterhood. Although, I do realize that I am blessed because of it already in many ways. But the hectic times I had in the chapter have caused me to not be as involved as I would like with the chartering of a new Alum Association in my area.
Its very hard to compete with the other NPC groups on campus, but somehow the chapter manages to continue to keep its head above water.
Wow, I probably vented just a little more than you all would have liked...I'll end it here. Thanks for "listening."
