Yay for recruitment!!!! We have worked sooooooooo hard all week and we are ready for all the PNM's! It's 9 and I am gonna hit the sack, but best wishes to all going through recruitment. And just to remind you, there is no contacting me until after bid day, otherwise my chapter gets in big trouble. Luck!

Orientation
Ok, so last night was our orientation. We all got into our groups and met our Rho Chi's. I love my girls. They are very different girls, but both are very sweet and helpful. There were about 850 girls that first night (according to my Rho Chi's) and it was a bit overwhelming. The girls in my group are all very sweet, and I'm one of 2 sophmores in the group. We start again today at 8 am and will visit 6 of the chapters. We end about 3:30. Today I'm wearing a khaki, just-above-the-knee skirt, a green, short sleeved button up shirt, and beige flip flops. Yay, it's really happening!!!! Thanks for all your good wishes, they really help!

Set 1-Day 1
Yesterday I visited six chapters. Here they are in order of how I'm ranking them so far:
Grape: I love these girls!! I talked to about 5 girls while my group was there. They were all really sweet and made me feel very comfortable. We talked about a lot of different things, and didn't even really get into sorority stuff until the party was almost over. I really hope i get to go back here and meet more girls.
Mango: This chapter was awesome. They were VERY enthusiastic, and the first girl I talked to was very un-sorority but she made me and the other rushee I was with feel really welcome. The second sister was a bit quieter than the first, but she answered all our questions and was very nice. Their songs were really cute and all the girls seemed really excited.
Raspberry: This was the last I visited so everyone was exhausted, but the sisters didn't let it show at all. I talked to about 5 girls here as well, and though they seemed to fit the mold of your "typical"sosrority girl a bit more than the other 2, they were all really nice and seemed really down to earth.
Blueberry: This house was beautiful, and so were the sisters. I can't even remember the names of all the girls I talked to! They were very nice, but the conversation seemed a little bit forced. Nice girls though, in general.
Apple: I only talked to 3 girls at this house. They were all pretty nice but the conversation seemed to drag a bit. These girls seemed to be the most laid back and down to earth of all of the chapters so far, but I didn't really feel a connection.
Strawberry: This is the chapter I thought I was going to love, but it was the exact opposite. The girls were all really nice, but they seemed pretty conservative and quiet. I think I would probably scare these girls with my outgoing, somewhat boistrous nature. Their pres also made some comments I wasn't totally comfortable with.
So far I'm having a great time. I thought I was prepared for how the whole process would be, but I wasn't at all. The cheering is sooo loud, and its weird to be in the middle of a conversation with someone and then all of a sudden have to start over with the next girl. I'm meeting the greatest girls though and I'm so glad I decided to go through.
Today I will be visiting the other 6 chapters. I'm wearing a knee length dark denim skirt, white v-neck t-shirt, and white sandals. Wish me luck!!

I'm so glad you had a good time. Today should be just as exciting. Can't wait to hear how it went.
Good luck!

I LOVE that you and UASoph are using the same names for the groups! It'll be so neat to see what each of you thought about them! I hope you find the right house for you during the remainder of rush! Enjoy it!!

I'm loving it too -- because it really shows that you shouldn't listen to anyone else's opinions about another house. They've only had one house in common and they both have very different feelings about it.
So kudos to BOTH of you ladies for being secure enough about your own feelings to place them next to one another's. It's a great display of how individualized choosing a house can be, and it's a GREAT read!
