I heart Wegman's. Bethlehem got one a year and a half ago and I will miss being around it.

I definetly miss it now that I'm in NYC and my closest supermarket is sketchy Met Food....

I love the Public's that is around the corner from my parents here in Florida....

In the Phoenix area we have:
Albertson's
Safeway
Super Walmart
Fry's

My family prefers to do our grocery shopping at:

We go to Fry's for emergencies or our favorite places don't have an item we need or want.

I forgot a NYC one:

D'AGASTINO'S!!

I used to love the D'Agastino's jingle when I was younger!'

"Love that D'Agastino's, love that Dag, Dag, Dag!.
The recipes for fun are in your Dag Dag Bag!
Love that Deli! Oh, Love that meat!"

And I can't remember the rest

I also remember the Chock Full O' Nuts coffee jingle! LOL

"Chock Full O' Nuts is that heeeea-venly coffee. Better stuff a millionaire's money can't buy!" LOL

Sorry, that was a bit of a hijack...LOL

Around here (CT) we have Stop & Shop, and Walmart (which I refuse to step foot in).

A few months ago, a Trader Joe's opened not far from me, but I haven't gotten out there yet.

We also have an independent supermarket, and an amazing food store that sells the best meat, fish, veggies, etc. We do 99% of our shopping at these two stores.

I have never been in a Walmart and not received rude service - if any service at all. The last time I was there, the inept cashier who was checking out the woman ahead of me, managed to lock out her cash register. There was a manager standing around RIGHT THERE who decided she had more important things to do than help the cashier - after all it was critically important that she examine her fingernails. She refused to help the cashier, refused to check me out, refused to find someone else to check me out - so I abandoned an entire cart and went to K-Mart.

We recently got Wal-Marts in the Detroit area, I refuse to go shopping there because I feel that they are trying to take over the world. But here is a Detroit, Michigan list:

Kroger
Meijer
Farmer Jack
Spartan Stores
Super K-Mart
Wal-Mart
Costco
Sams Club

Thats all I can really think of for now.

Out here in Wichita, KS (nowheresville) we have,
Dillon's
Food 4 Less
Super Wal-Mart
Checkers
Aldi's

That's about it, we used to have a bunch more, but Dillon's has such a monopoly! And, they're damned expensive!
