Are these things not scheduled?

I swear congress should be privatized.

Some would say the Founders invisioned a legislature that didn't get anything done. They found that to be positive because they acknowledged that government was inherently bad, but better than lawlessness.

In any regard, the couple times this has been attempted, the house members, with their 2 year terms usually get this done quite quick. It's the 6 year term Senators who take their time on such things and waste time on filibustering overqualified court appointments, ambassadors, etc.

Alpha Gams are ready!

The Fraternity is seeking your assistance in a national grassroots campaign of letter writing by all fraternities and sororities in support of the Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act of 2005. This legislation will fundamentally improve the ability of college fraternities to improve our student housing by redefining existing tax law to allow tax-deductible charitable contributions made to national or local 501(c)(3) organizations (such as the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation) to be used at the chapter level for a broad range of purposes, including making safety and infrastructure improvements to our chapter houses.

We are asking for you to take fifteen minutes of your time between now and March 15 to draft a couple of letters to Congress in support of the legislation,......

We believe that if the Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act of 2005 becomes law, we can legally utilize tax deductible donations to make our housing and overall membership experience safer and more attractive to future generations of students.

Click on the following link for templates of appropriate letters to the Senate and the House and spreadsheets of contact information for both chambers of Congress.

*** Go to www.alphagammadelta.org and click on Happenings at the top of the page. Although the sample letters are directed to be written by Alpha Gams, I'm sure your organizations have their own versions...or should!

Exclamation write your representatives!

Hi Everyone,
I got my version of the letter off of the National Panhellenic Conference site. The link is here http://npcwomen.org/newsevents/0602_write_congress.php
If you scroll to the bottom, there are letters for collegiates, chapter presidents, alumnae volunteers, etc to print out and sign.
Again, to find the names and addresses of your representatives in the House and Senate, visit
http://www.house.gov and http://www.senate.gov
Besides, it's good to at least know who your representatives in Congress are, anyway!
Good luck, and lets get some $$$$!
