When I was in school, we had a group on campus that would film the events before recruitment (freshman orientation stuff). I witnessed them filming several of the freshman girls saying their national "PR catch phrase" (I don't think it was their motto, though) with an active or two. Then when the freshman would ask "What I just said with ya'll.....what does that mean? What is that?" the actives wouldn't tell them it was from their sorority. They just shrugged it off and changed the subject. (I'm sure the freshman were racking their brains, thinking "Maybe that's an HSU phrase....I don't remember it though!").
They would use the video in their rush parties and stick those shots in with shots of the actives.....while I'm sure it made a positive impression with the rushees and made them feel like they belonged already, it was also kinda shady because they would only pick
certain rushees if you know what I mean

. Now, no one does that (that I am aware of), instead everyone gets a copy of the rushees picture with the app.
The digital picture idea sounds great though.....easy, cheap, and fair to all. Plus, it makes the pictures more uniform (one recruitment I went to someone turned in her 5x7 B&W glossy from her modeling portfolio. That was a bit much for my school!!) It would eliminate taking pictures during the parties, and if you wanted to slip a digital pic in with your slide show, you've got it.
