Our Panhell rules state that 2nd semster, the sorority members cannot speak to any freshman women who are going through recruitment, unless they have a family relationship to us. We've actually had girls not go through with recruitment because they didn't want to be without their friends for a month and would end up COB-ing.

*edited for me leaving out words
So they know the COB trick too, huh?

Ok this was my situation. My old roommate (she graduated) was a Chi Omega when I decided to go through recruitment. BTW I went through twice because the first time I was cut from all sororities the second nite. The first time we just laid down the ground rules that she couldn't talk to me about recruitment and every sorority knew we were roommates, so they knew why were together all of the time. When I was cut from all of the sororities the first time I went through, it was very tough because she thought I was going to be mad at her for forever. She explained that it wasn't her that voted "nay" for me and she didn't know what happened. I told her I knew it wasn't her that voted against me. I knew it took a lot of people to vote no for someone and it could've been for any reason. Later, I found out through the grapevine that everyone (all of the sororities except one) thought I was going to go with this one sorority because I was a legacy. Well they dropped me the first night. To be honest, I cried a whole lot during that time in my life. She helped me remain positive about it and told me I HAD to go back through. And when she says something like that then you kind of listen. hehe

The second time we both knew what to expect with one another during recruitment. So don't stress about it!

We had houses and all sorority members had to live there during rush week without leaving the house. It was so crowded with over 100 girls stuffed into a 40-person house, but I guess it was a good way to enforce the "silent" rule!
