::hugs::. On the plus side, the fact you use Microsoft Word and it hasn't saved a normal.dot file somewhere, is impossible - so since it can't happen we won't accept defeat!

Ok question one, what version of Windows are you using?
Please try the following, start MS Word from the 'Start>Run' box by clicking run, browse and then finding the winword.exe program. It is
most likely to be in the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\" folder.
Click open and it goes back to the Run box with the pathname followed by winword.exe (i.e. "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Winword.exe" or similar). Put a space in after the .exe bit and insert /a.
So... you'll have something like: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Winword.exe" /a
I'd like you to try that see what happens, and start with a new document. We'll take it from there depending on what happens and get it sorted
