Wedding
Erica,
Sounds like you had a fabulous---and fun wedding!! You are so right in that whatever you choose to do---do it your way and have fun!! What you do for your own wedding is correct---and no one knows if something does happen to turn out differently than planned! Enlisting friends and family to do a portion of the preparations is a great idea!! Saves money and each friend and relative who helps loves having a part of your "big" day!!
I just helped prepare my sisters wedding. This was her first nice wedding althought it wasn't her first marriage. Silk flowers can be prepared months ahead of the wedding, are cheaper than fresh---and no one really cares whether you use fresh or silk!! You have a nice keepsake after the wedding too. Find someone who sews! My sister had 5 bridesmaids and a candle-lighter and all dresses were sewn from $100 worth of material! She found just what she wanted on sale! I made 3 dresses and 3 were made by a lady who advertised at a fabric store. We made simple reception table decorations in keeping with the wedding's theme of a country wedding. All the guys were handsome in cowboy hats, tux and boots!
There are several sites on the 'Net for crafting everything! Just put wedding in your search and look at all.
BTW, my sister found the perfect dress on sale!! No need to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress to be worn once. 36 years ago, I purchased my wedding dress with hopes of my daughter wearing it some day!! Wrong----daughter had a different idea of what her wedding dress would be!!!ha I still have the dress----maybe my granddaughter------ha
Wish I were close enough to help prepare another wedding! I loved every minute of the last 4 months preparing my sisters!! She chose yellow for an early July wedding and white and yellow silk daisys! It was lovely!
Best wishes on the upcoming wedding! Don't get too stressed on anything and enjoy your day!
Your Texas Sis, JudyK
