I lucked out when I joined TBS, our national flower is the American Beauty Long Stemmed Red Rose... aka the same flower as Phi Sig (although for Phi Sig its just 'American Beauty Rose')

Our local flower for TBS does not exist in nature, only in the head of Chris Miller (if I am correct) it is a White Lilly, with Purple Trim. Yea I dont know either...

ADPi's official flower is the woodland violet, which is purple. The violet was selected by our founders as their official flower, as they grew in abundance around Wesleyan Female College in Macon, GA, and were a popular flower of the time.

As woodland violets are not available for commerical sale, ADPi's often give one another African violets. Violets are usually given in friendship, and a common ADPi congratulatory term is "Violets to you!"

Hope this information helps! Jen, I am amazed at the information you have amassed on GLO's! You are quite the archivist. How did your hobby begin? It's amazing!

Alpha Gamma Delta has red and buff (very light/pale yellow) with aparagus fern as our official flowers. Since buff may be hard to find, almost any yellow will do.

To be more specific, Delta Gamma's offical flower is the DELTA GAMMA ROSE, which is cream colored!

In 1976, a Texas rose grower proposed that a newly-developed, lighter cream-colored rose be registered with the American Rose Society as the “Delta Gamma.” Trial plants sent to regional Delta Gamma rose lovers thrived and sparked great enthusiasm for blanketing members’ gardens across the country with the new rose. The Delta Gamma rose was presented in person at the 1978 Convention in Dearborn.

Carnation, that was you? NO WAY! I show that issue of the Key to all our new members, both because of the flower and because that issue has an article about the installation of our chapter. Wow, I had no idea that was you! You rock my world!

Ariesrising, Kappa's official flower is the Fleur-de-lys, but because you can't just go to the florist and order a dozen, we use blue or purple irises. I like to think of the Fleur as the ideals for which all Kappas strive, and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Iris as the closest approximation that our imperfect selves can attain here on earth.

Dude, Carnation, I am still stunned. I think that flower is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Do any of them still exist? I've done a few searches, but I can't find any mention of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Iris outside of that issue of teh Key.

As far as I know, and narcissus or aster works...but spesifically, nacissus is our fall flower and aster is our spring flower, which is why we have two!

Oh nooooo! I like to think that none of the issues exist anymore!

Y'all's then-national president, Jean Wells, showed up out of the blue down in the gardens at the college. I immediately knew who she had to be...she had on this huge key. SHE looked so great and I was wearing this tiny "Kentucky" shirt and jeans and she wanted to take pictures! Boooo!

The next fall, I sent all the rhizomes of that iris and "Kappa Minerva" to the Kappa Headquarters with growing instructions. I didn't keep any here because the clay soil/poor drainage promotes soft rot disease. Someone told me that they planted them in front of the HQ Building--I hope they kept them up!

Wow, that metaphor with our flowers would be great to use for new member education! Killarney Rose is right; it is beautiful.

I wanna see the picture! Could someone with a copy maybe scan it and post it?

For ASA's flowers, the narcissus and aster, I have only seen yellow narcissuses and white asters used.
