Hmm...another thing I relized I loved about the Midwest while I was driving from Missouri to Omaha today. Missouri is seriouly one of the most beautiful states in the country, hills everywhere, beautiful rocky cliffs, and so many trees!!!

And the food, yum we had bbq baby back ribs, potatos, and FRESH corn on the cob for dinner, can't beat a meal like that, YUM!!!!

I can't wait until August. I've planned my vacation right after Summer class ends and Fall semester begins and I'm HOPING to go to Kansas City to World's of Fun and shopping on the plaza. It'll be a great little weekend getaway. Plus if things go well, I may ask Cory to come with me so we can make it a little date weekend adventure

Kansas City and the Midwest ROCK!

I got out the old Rand McNally Road Atlas out of curiousity the other day and discovered I've visited 44 of the fifty states at one time or other. All (or at least most) have something to recommend them.

I'm a Midwesterner by birth (although here in Colorado, they consider Ohio part of the East), and can't help but love the people, the work ethic, the friendliness and the incredible diversity, not only of the population, but of the things that the cities and country have to offer -- from heavy industry to family farms.

That's probably why they call it the Heartland.

There are lots of places I've been and things I've seen that I really love -- but, in my heart, I'll always consider myself an Ohioan, loaned to Colorado.

And, of the places I've lived, the only one I would seriously consider moving back to is Athens, Ohio -- the prototypical college town in the beautiful Hocking Hills/Rural Applachian foothills of Southeastern Ohio.

I'm from Cincinnati and I love cincinnati chili...it's the best stuff EVER! haha! The other big draw is that we're "Porkopolis"! So yes, some midwestern cities have an obsession with sausage! haha!

I've lived in the midwest my entire life, and to tell you the truth, I'm not a big fan. Maybe I'm just bored with it, but I can't wait to go somewhere else.

That's OK. I was pretty bored with it, too. It's fun to go different places and do different things.

In the end, though, I always end up thinking very fondly of the Midwest.

I have lived in Ohio all my life and I cant imagine living any where else! I live in the city now for college but I cant wait to get back to a slower pace of life!!! I love the country and small town atmosphere! And I love the seasons here. You get summer and winter with beautiful fall and spring. What more could you want!
