To Diva_01 and all the others seeking jobs,
I remember this feeling oh too well!
I am currently an Employment Specialist which means I hlep people find jobs and it is indeed a tight market right now but the best thing you can do right now is get a job as a secretary, receptionist or other entry level position that way if and when the economy lets up anough for the company to hire in your field, you have a better chance at getting it than someone form outside the company.
There is an AKA that did that at my job. She started off as the secretary for one of the departments and is now the director. She worked her way up in 2 years because she had the degree from the jump, she just had to wait for opportunity to come knocking on her door.
I too did not start out in my ideal job but that job gave me contacts out the wazoo and now I have leverage at my current job because of the people I knpw and experience I gained at my first one.
I'm not sure how other schools work and people always make fun of me for going to a predominantly white college but that college looks out for me and networks for me without me even knowing but when I ask for help or numbers to alums in the area that may be able to help me find a new job, I have an extensive list the next day. So, make sure you use your networking with your school, sorors, frat, friends, you mama's friends that remember you when you was this little (LOL!), ETC.
Good luck with your search and to those in the Cleveland area, I will help you if at all possible so hit me up!
