This is a great, great day. This is Brown v. Board of Education Day.
I urge everyone to read Justice Kennedy's opinion, which can be found at
www.supremecourtus.gov, especially the last three paragraphs.
"The petitioners are entitled to respect for their private lives. The State cannot demean their existence or control their destiny by making their private sexual conduct a crime....As the Constitution endures, every generation can invoke its principles in their own search for greater freedom."
Wow. I didn't even dare to hope for language like that. Bless you, Justice Kennedy, I didn't think you had it in you. Thanks.
