I feel the exact same way about those kids I grew up with who are simply parroting the right-wing lingo they were spoon-fed. It cuts both ways. I would love to hear your thoughts about MTSU--I've never heard it categorized as a liberal school. But, then, I could be biased.

Hey Democrats - Not trying to be rude, but I do think there is a thread that is for democrats. I'm hoping to discuss things with other Republicans here, not argue and read arguments. Debate is great, but there's a time and a place and sometime you just don't feel like it!

I would never have posted here but a few republicans insisted on repling to the democrat thread so as long as they post there I have the right to post here.

Hey, Heather, have you checked out our Democrat thread? There are more posts by Republicans than by us - nasty ones, too! And it was just poor Betarulz trying to inform us about something within our own party. Not hurting the republicans at all...
I agree with you, though. It would be nice if we could have some civil discussions with people who share political beliefs without fending off naysayers (Especially the dems as we are looking for a candidate for the next election!).

Refer to the Democrat thread. I'm sure people would like to discuss there as well w/o interference.

Edited to fit free-speech....
{AXO Alum steps up to the box with her head held high and adds the following to her original post...in a sweet Southern drawl of course....} (oh, and sarcasm may appear so please be cautious)
Please be aware that what follows is my opinion -- my as in me, myself, and/or I (although not always implying that the three are one in the same). I as an American citizen of Scot-Irish decent with a background of Southern raising and a mamma who told me to stand up for something or fall for anything, would like to declare that I (and/or me, myself) am proud to be an American. I am proud of the free-speech that I have, when others will let me have it, and I am proud that I am a voting member of the GOP (however this does not mean that I will always agree with conservative views or a political figure because he/she/it may be a member of said party). I believe in pro-life causes (because to me (and/or myself), I believe choice implies letting the baby have a choice), but I do not believe in attacks on abortion clinics. I believe in working hard and helping those in need, but not handing out free-for-alls to the welfare addicts. I believe in working together to make this country a better place, but not in tv ad commercials that spend more time talking about how bad the other person is rather than what the sponsor can do for the country. My views DO NOT represent Alpha Chi Omega - whether expressed or implied. To imply such makes many of us poor representatives of our orgs considering the types of posts made on this forum. Oh, and I also do not group ALL democraTs together -- its just a general term that is used, the same as when people say REPUBLICANS -- see how this works?
In closing, I will respect YOUR right to an opinion when you respect MINE....... resume post....
Attention all "fine upstanding people of GC and throughout the world whose eyes my words may fall upon" (censorship is a great thing - someone oughta tell Eminem) .... I have deleted my own posts from the "DemocraTs" forum -- I would never in a million years have thought that such *wonderful, life-loving, get-along-all-the-time* people would get all *concerned* over the questionable RIGHT to FREE SPEECH (leave it to the small yet powerful group of democraT supporters (which would not include any persons who do not consider themselves as such group) who want to make this world a better place to be concerned over this.)
In honor of this *victory* by the democraTs, I will hereby attend a cookout in my area where I will be able to participate in the time-honored John Edwards tradition of burning flags and killing babies who are partially born (although they *are* just tissue, and not living beings, right?), and hear such moving testimonials from Howie who has in his oh-so-great-intelligence now declared that the POTUS has the power to change PROPERTY taxes! You know Howie, dang if I didn't think that was an issue decided on by STATE leaders -- I am so glad that you have corrected us all! Of course not ALL democraTs agree with these things - to imply as such would be a generalization, and that is bad - veray veray baaad.
And I suppose that I will look forward to the next plane to crash into one of our buildings since the democraTs (those that mentioned this in their own posts that is) are SO *right* about not finding weapons of mass destruction....but I never was so good at hide-and-seek. Some people were just better at hiding especially after being given so much ADVANCE warning through the multiple inspections that the democraTs kept asking for (the ones who are on record as such). You know, if you give a drug dealer just "one more chance" to hide his drugs before the police show up, he'll probably find a way to do it!
Now, now, democraTs (the ones that this pertains to) -- PLEASE take this opportunity to respond as this is OUR forum (since you feel compelled to point that out) -- and we will just sit back and LISTEN patiently for you to enlighten us all on your fine policies of economic structure.
I hope that I have pleased y'all by being the polite Southern woman that I am....keeping my mouth closed up tight while the rest of y'all tell me what a bad bad person I am. I mean, I never thought that all the replies posted would be so enjoyable. And now I must bid you farewell for a moment or two. I must go check my PM box for a possible "pink slip" as my moderator-ship has been called into question....talk about personal attacks...tsk tsk. (AXO Alum carrying hoop-skirt ballgown as she runs up the stairs to check her PM box)...

Yep, this sums up the reason I feel the way I do about democraps -- because its always SOMEONE else's fault and not "poor so-and-so" ....
ah ah ah - no replies here...you have your own playground so get to steppin'......

Check out the other threads....like the 'tired of bickering' one where the phrase STUPID republicans is used.....awww, come on now, that musta been a joke right? A little tee-hee -- damn if it ain't funny when it comes back to bite your a$$.
Now go work on some legislation to let Saddam become a US citizen because he is so misunderstood or something....

Goodness, I agree. AXOAlum, I'm not sure why you're so hostile but I personally find your comments here to be offensive and out of line.

don't want this to sound rude or anything, but it just seems like you get way defensive over posts on GC. no need for the hostility.
if someone says something you don't agree with there's no need to pretend we're all in kindergarten again ... we're adults..
in the other thread it really just seemed like the poster you speak of was just kidding around.
so why don't we all just chill out .. this is GC.. not the senate house.
