When I was in school, there were lots of Alphas, Phis, Sigmas, and Taus.

Sororities:
Alpha Epsilon Phi
Alpha Phi
Alpha Xi Delta
Delta Phi Epsilon
Delta Tau (local)
Phi Sigma Sigma
Sigma Delta Tau

Fraternities:
* Alpha Epsilon Pi
* Alpha Sigma Phi
* Beta Theta Pi
* Chi Phi
* Delta Omega Phi (local-closed)
* Pi Lambda Phi
* Sigma Alpha Epsilon
* Sigma Alpha Mu
* Sigma Phi Epsilon
* Sigma Nu
* Tau Alpha Upsilon (local)
* Tau Epsilon Phi
* Tau Kappa Epsilon
* Zeta Beta Tau

It is interesting. Many of these fraternities have closed and new ones have opened. Only one sorority (the local) has closed over the years.

Believe it or not, I was just thinking about this same thing recently! Delta and Alpha seem to be very popular where I went to school.

As for rarely-used letters, I'm in an honor society called Phi Upsilon Omicron...try saying that three times fast!

You seem to have a lot of Sigmas at Indiana U. Actually, you have a lot of everything there since greeklife is so huge.

How about Pi Beta Phi?

As for seldom used Iota, the only national orgs I know of are Sigma Alpha Iota and Iota Phi Theta. I can't think of any that use Eta, though.

We have a lot of Phi usage at my school. (we have 11 GLO @CSU Stanislaus)

Sororities:
Phi Sigma Sigma
Phi Lambda Rho-local
Delta Phi Gamma-local
Phi Gamma Theta-local

Fraternities:
Phi Mu Alpha
Phi Delta Theta

Also what is interesting at my school is the more uncommon letters are more commonly used with our locals.

letters used by our locals:

Upsilon Kappa Delta
Nu Alpha Kappa
Phi Lambda Rho

also we have Alpha Xi Delta which is uncommon too.

Another thing that is common on our campus is all of our GLO have 3 letters except for one. (Theta Chi) I've always thought that was kinda neat.

*Edited because I can't spell Upsilon

OK this is totally turning into a roll call thread...

Just thought I'd point that out!

It totally is! And no one has answered my other question which was..............

How many "Tri-somethings" are there?
There's Tri Delta and Tri Sigma (NPC)
There's Tri Alpha and Tri Zeta (I think they're locals - I saw their website somewhere).
There's Tri Kappa (I think it's educational or honor or something) and there's Tri Beta (also something along those lines).
Any others?
