I don't know if you know

But the Bush administration completely cut out the "Teach for America" program out of Americorps.

Glad to know that Bush is helping the education system!

Isn't that stupid? Bush talks about the"No Child Left Behind" Act, and then cuts Teach for America out....

I read on their website that they are trying to get new funding so that they can still help people with their college loans. I know that I was gonna do it, just because they used to forgive your student loans. Now, I'm not so sure anymore...

Bush didn't cut it. The article says: Just before the summer recess, the Senate passed a $100 million appropriation to restore these cuts, but House majority leader Tom DeLay—who has made no secret of his desire to kill AmeriCorps—blocked the money.

The President says he wants these funds restored, but he doesn't seem to have much control over the powerful DeLay.

yes it may have been someone associated with the Bush asministration but it was not the president personally who cut the funding.

but ya'll are right....our government, all political parties, should be doing more to support education and those who want to become educators.
