I donate to the Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation each year. We also publish annual donors lists in To Dragma, based on cumulative giving levels. I also have donated time and money on a local level.
We do not make a general financial donation to my alma mater, but do donate to a specific alumnae group associated with it. We also donate to DH's university annually.
(This probably belongs in the 'I Hate To Admit' thread, but we also donate every few years to my beloved University of Kentucky, although neither of us attended school there!)

Well, As I am still paying active dues, I don't donate, but I will certianly donate to my local chapter next year. Once I get more money I'll donate to National.

Since I am still an undergraduate paying dues I do not donate...yet. But I will after I graduate. My parents give money to the Beta foundation (I told them to do that instead of donating to my greedy, undeserving school!)

I plan on donating to the foundation, not in large amounts since I am still in college, just as an alumna. I will at some point donate towards my chapter, but at this time I don't think it's the best idea.

When I was an Alum, I donated to my chapter. I knew that the were having some financial dificulty, and if $20 here or there could help them out, why not? It's buying gifts or prizes for a sisterhood where there weren't any before, or food and drinks for a COB party. I think that I would almost alway donate to my local chapter before my national org. Of course, if I had the money, I would have donate to both, but I didn't expect to be able to do that for a couple more years.
Edited to add: Once, at the end of the year, we were a little tight budget wise, and an alum donated the entrance fee so that we could participate in one more Philanthropy (we had money for 2, now we got to do 3). That's $40 that helped us, PR-wise, moral-wise, and in many other ways.

I donate now to the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation. It is just $20 a year, but it a good way to build a small nest egg. My chapter has an investment fund(CIF) that I would like to see grow so we can offer real scholarships to brothers who deserve it. I plan on donating money, even in small amounts, to it every year as well as to the Foundation. I really would like to see all of the alumni from my chater giving small amounts to the CIF every year. That way they are used to giving money and it becomes easier to give more money when it comes time for capitol fundrasing for a chapter house. I have been told by a few fundraising professionals that that is the way to do it.

A topic dear to my heart!
I firmly believe that one of the most important ways to keep your GLO strong for future generations is to donate your time and money!
I pay my alumna dues to both my local chapter and International.
I also donate to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation in a really fun way--they direct debit $19.04 every month from my checking account! It hurts the pocketbook much less than donating in one lump sum. I don't miss the money at all.
I've donated to the Campaign for Alpha Gamma Delta, which is our "countdown to the centennial" Capital Campaign. I spread that donation out over 4 years so I could make a more significant gift. I love how our Foundation bends over backwards to make donating easy for our alumnae.
God willing, when I become rich and famous, I'll be able to make a substantial gift to the Foundation. Until then, I just keep donating what I can.

That is a fabulous idea...I wonder if we have something like that! I wouldn't notice them taking the money, I would just think I had a little less.

I would guess you probably do. The Alpha Phi Foundation also has direct debit and it does make donating a lot easier!

I donated periodically when I was an UG. We have the 1874 Society, where UG's can donate $18.74 and you get a neat little dangle for your badge. There are tons of other societies alums and UG's can be a part of depending on how much you give. I got a call from a UG in Texas a few months ago asking me to donate, and I think I shocked the crap out of her when I told her I had already mailed my donation in! She was pleasantly surprised.

Most foundations have direct debit arranged with tons of banks around the world, and I'm sure they'd love to have you sign up for it. I know that here at Lawrence (I work in our Development Office), there are a million and one ways in which we'll take money.
