A lot of people decorate the caps out here. We are a big school for teachers so you see a bunch of stuff that has to do with that.

(I am a marshall this year for graduation and I can't do anything. I wanted at least a pretend tassel or something, but nope I got jacked. well I did get a free cap and gown out of it. hee hee)

Our girls wear a sash with our letters on it as do a couple of the other fraternities. None of the other sororities really do it; except sometimes they make something and wear that.

We weren't ALLOWED to do anything... some of my sisters had decorated their caps, and were made to remove all decorations before entering the floor. I also saw them making some guy take off his lei. Boooooooooooo for FSU!

Random question - were you at Friday night or Saturday morning graduation? I graduated Friday night... woo!

There are always a few people at my school who decorate their caps, but we rent our caps and gowns, so whatever you do has to be removable. Most people use masking tape.

Some BGLO members wear sashes.

When I received my master's degree, then-President Clinton was the commencement speaker. Can you say security... We had to pass through two metal detectors, and as we got to the second one we were told to remove our caps because the tassel contained enough metal to set them off!

I graduated from Florida State in December 2001 I couldn't remember if it was just coincidence that no one did anything or if they imposed rules on us. I did get a very pretty fresh flower lei AFTER graduation though...hehe.
