Well did the minutes say 'Rockford' or 'Rockhurst'? I ask because the colongy we are discussing is Rockhurst. There might be a Rockford University where we had another colony that fell through.
I would maybe contact EO for more information. They would most certainly know the answer.

P.S. Does anyone else find it kind of odd that we don't have chapters in New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, Maine, New Hampshire, Deleware and New Jersey?

Plus, doesn't it seem odd that we only have two or less chapters in the following states: Nevada, Colorado, Oregon, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Mississippi and Maryland.

One thing to point out, I am looking at my Alpha book which has a map Chapters of Alpha Delta Pi as of July 1997, so I'm sure things have changed. I was just curious about this. Plus, some of the states are pretty self explanitory why we only have a few chapters, if only one (like Nevada).

Brianna, I think we've had chapters in a lot of the states you've mentioned, but are now closed. Utah comes to mind.

One really good recruitment tool is to get a map of the United States, mounted (or you mount it!) on foam Display Board. Using blue & white push pins, mark everyplace where there's a chapter with one color, and everywhere there's an alumnae group with the other. You'll be so surprised, you'll impress yourselves!

Honey, that is an excellent idea. I'm going to pass in on to my DG sisters at U of A. They have spring rush pretty much the first or second week of the semester and then I'm sure they will continue with COR for the rest of the semester.

Like Honey said, Utah, New Mexico, Montana, Minnesota, and Maine all had collegiate chapters at one point in time, but they have since closed. The other states have never had a collegiate chapter.

Colorado's two chapters have closed, Oregon's two chapters have closed, Indiana had five chapters at one time, but two have since closed, New York had six chapters at one time, but five have closed.

It's always rather interesting to see what chapters have been in which states, and I'm hoping to see many more chapters spring up, in states that have never had a chapter and those who've had chapters closed (maybe have them rechartered!)

In regards to the Rockford/Rockhurst colony, I did a copy and paste from the chapter minutes...maybe it was a typo, but I couldn't even find anything on National's website about any colony that we had in progress. Of course, when I posted that message, I didn't even see that it had said Rockford and not Rockhurst, so if there's another colony, I apologize for stirring up a hornet's nest.

No problem. I was just curious. It saddened me to know that possibly the Rockhurst colony won't acutally colonize. If that makes any sense at all.

Sorry to hear that ADPi may not colonize at Rockhurst. BTW, I'm not Greek, but I live in KC & I think that Rockhurst is in need of more organizations. I'll be transferring from my jr. college to UMKC in the fall & I think they could benefit from expansion as well. KC is a culturally diverse city & it comes together within it's colleges & universities. It's so wonderful to walk on campus & see so many different ethnicities, heritages, creeds, & colors together pursuing education. However, I think that it's sad that there are no MCGLO/LGLO's on UMKC/Rockhurst's campus. I would love to be part of getting a colony established of a *certain* Latina-based sorority that supports diversity within their organization. I think the world of them, and if ever given the opportunity to help bring them to UMKC, I would absolutely love it!

For those who liked this idea & may use it, there's one more aspect that can make it interesting! PM me for the details - double secret rush stuff, don't you know?
