We have a few co-ed groups here on campus (not reputable organizations like APO, more like sketchy nerd groups)...and there's a lot of hooking up and long term relationships between members. We've usually chalked it up (this is going to be super mean) to the fact that they probably wouldn't get any play if they weren't part of the house. I guess we're all adults, but it seems kinda gross, if only because it makes for awkward situations if things don't work out.

I also disagree with sweetheart organizations. Join a sorority!

I think people are using "sweetheart" and "sweetheart org" interchangeably, they are not the same thing...

Girls are more likely than guys to make the "no dating the sweetheart" rule, IMO. I know that we did, not because there weren't any boyfriends that would have been great sweethearts (there were), but because girls I think feel a sweetheart is more like a sister relationship - he supports you, you share things with him, etc. If a boyfriend would have taken on that role, there probably would have been a lot of jealousy unless the girlfriend was VERY sure of herself.
