Talking excellent point aka monet!!!

you really have to know what it is you want professionally. i believe that accelerated programs provide viable options for people who want to grow professionally but due to life circumstance (family and bills) can't afford to go the traditional route. for those interested in accelerated programs i will always advocate for the university of maryland, university college. they were one of the first schools to establish distance programs and college in the evening. the main campus is right next to university of maryland, college park. many of the professors that teach at college park teach at university college.

another great thing i think that these accelerated programs have is the focus on getting to the crux of the curriculum and that your classmates are going to be more focused and about getting the work completed. i don't think you will be faced with people not wanting to be on task and diligent with assignments. why? because just like you, people have day jobs and families so they don't have the time to play around.

i am currently in the process of applying to eastern university for their nonprofit management program. i initially began looking at univ. of maryland but like aka_monet stated, i really thought about what i wanted to and where i saw myself. the great thing about this program for me is that there is much more hands-on application of what i will be studying. some of my projects will give me a chance to work directly with nonprofit orgs. i will be considered a consultant for their organization. consulting is an option that i have considered greatly because of goals my husband and i have set for the next few years. i envision myself advancing profesionally with an eastern university degree than with a university college degree. but that is just me. both schools have great programs.

good luck narcolept and others pursuing this route!!!!
