Tiffy and Derrick sitting in the tree,
K-I-S-S-I-N-G,
First come love,
Then come marriage,
Then come Tiffy with a baby carriage

Ding, Dong, Dong, Dong, Dong
A ding dong, dong, dong, dong
A ding dong,
Yo mama don’t where no draws
A ding dong
I saw her when she took them off
A ding dong
She through them in the air
A ding dong
Batman said Well I declare!

When I was a baby, baby, baby
When I was a baby, baby, baby
I went "wah", "wah", a "wah wah wah"
All night long
All night long

When I was a lil girl, lil girl, lil girl
When I was a lil girl, lil girl, lil girl
I went "jump", "jump", a "jump, jump, jump" (said while imitating jumping rope)
All night long
All night long

When I was a teenager, teenager, teenager
When I was a teenager, teenager, teenager
I went (no words--just pretend to primp in the mirror)
All night long
All night long

When I was a woman, woman, woman
When I was a woman, woman, woman
I went (no words--just make kissing sounds)
All night long
All night long

When I got married, married, married
When I got married, married, married
I went (no words--just pretend to "push it")
All night long
All night long

When I had a baby, baby, baby
When I had a baby, baby, baby
I went (no words--just waddle like a pregnant woman)
All night long
A night long

When I was an old lady, old lady, old lady
When I was an old lady, old lady, old lady
I went (no words--just pretend to walk like an old lady with a cane)
All night long
All night long

When my husband died, died, died
When my husband died, died, died
I went (make crying sounds)
All night long
All night long

When I died, died, died
When I died, died, died
I went (lie down and play dead)
All night long
All night long

Obviously, that's the end!

You're my she-ro, RedefinedDiva. I was sitting here racking my brain trying to remember that. There are two more that are on the tip of my tongue, and I just can't remember them yet. I'll be back when I do.

I think we should include some "new school" ones as well, because while some of ours may be a little risqué, some of the ones today are just plain ol' nasty. I've had to give my niece "the look" on several occasions for some of that mess. I'm going to ask her to tell me the words and I'll post them.

Okay, I retract my former statement. Some of ours were just as scandalous, LOL.

Awww shucks...this thread is taking me back!
I think I remember this one CountryGurl but don't quote me on the correct words...
Miss Mary Mack Mack Mack
All dressed in black black black
With silver buttons buttons buttons
All down her back back back
She asked her mother (repeat twice like above)....
For fifty cents....
To see the elephants....
Jump over the fence....
They jumped so high.....
They touched the sky.....
And they never came back....
To the Fourth of July...
And then we went into some other thing and at the end we were like FREEZE!
What the hayle was going on with us?? Elephants...fences...4th of July??

AKA2D you really brought it back with Elevate your mind! I think that was a cheer at our school!

Ok, I just thought of another one. I can't remember all the words but it went something like:
Have a Coke and a smile
Makes you feel good
That's the way it should be....
I can't remember the rest! Anyone know that one?

Yeah, so she goes upstairs to comb her hair and bumped her head on a piece of cornbread!!! Well, at least in my version she did. WTF??? And we used to exaggerate cooooooooooooooornbread and say it kinda high pitched.

Talking

talk about a walk down childhood memory lane..
I wonder if this one is a California thing...during recess we use to stand in a circle with one girl in the middle and she would spin and util we said beep beep, the girl would then stop spinning and face some one and start dancing and the person she is facing had to imitate her, then trade places...

little sally walker,
walking down the street (beep, beep)
she didn;t know what to do,
so she jumped in front of me and said
"gone girl, do yo thang, do yo' thang, do yo thang,
"gone girl, do yo thang, do yo' thang
Stop!
(repeat)

A 70's inspired chant

I don't remember all of it but it went something like this:

My name is __________, my number is one,
my reputation is having fun,
those who see me step aside,
mighty (Zodiac sign) don't take no jive.

My name is ______, my number is two,
my reputation is loving you,
those who see me step aside,
mighty (Zodiac sign) don't take no jive

My name is _______, my number is three,
my reputation is being free,
those who see me step aside
mighty (Zodiac sign) don't take no jive.

Each person in the group would pick a number and it would go around until you get to the number 10. I don't remember all the rhymes, but I am sure creative people can think of stuff to say.

Alll day long
Huffin' and puffin'
And singing that song
All the little birdies on Jaybird St.
Love to hear the robins go
Tweet, tweet, tweet

Rockin' Robin
Tweet, Twillillilee

Rockin' Robin
Tweet, Twillillilee

Mama's in the kitchen
Burning that rice
Daddy's on the corner shootin' that dice
Brother's in jail
Raisin' hell
Sister's on the corner selling fruit cocktail

Grandma, grandma
Sick in bed
Called the doctor and the doctor said

Let's get the rhythm of the head
DING DONG head goes side to side
I got the rhythm of head
DING DONG head goes side to side

Let's get the rhythm of the hands
clap hands

Let's get the rhythm of the feet
stomp feet
I got the rhythm of feet
stomp feet

Let's get the rhythm of the
HOT DOG move hips in circle

Put it all together and what do you get:

Mama's on bottom
Papa's on top
Baby singing "Get down Pop"
Rockin Robin Tweet . . .

or maybe it was grandma and grandpa . . . that I have forgotten.
