I am going to the chapter rechartering at Oregan State this April. I am stoked, I was really hoping that it would be somehting that I got to do during my undergraduate experience.

Sigma Pi Fraternity currently has 10 active colonies, and there are plans to continue the rapid expansion.

Here are the current colonies:

Wisconsin-Madison
Arizona State
Indiana State
Ferris State
Old Dominion
Texas Tech
Penn State at Altoona
Radford University
Houston
Salisbury State

As for some of the new colonies they are planning to open in the next few years: University of Oregon, U.C. Santa Barbara, and CSU Chico. The Zeta-Lambda chapter at University of Southern California will also re-colonize in 2004, as the alumni already own a large house on Greek row.

The beta colony at UCF is great! i just have to plug them because my big and little brothers are both betas! They just got a "chapter of excellence award." at greek awards last week. From what I understand, they are applying for their charter this summer at convention.

We've also gotten larger in the Northeast since my initation. I guess it was thought that the chapters up here wouldn't survive as well as other chapters, because the climate wasn't as good for fraternities. However, my chapter at Boston U., along with others around the area, have stayed strong, and other chapters have seen big increases in membership and quality.

That's great to know. I had heard that they were a pretty strong group. We are represented well in Florida so I'm not that surprised.

ECU is getting a Pike chapter??? That's too sweet for words.

Pi Phi is expanding a lot in the West--this academic year we chartered chapters at University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and Loyola Marymount University in California.
