at the risk of sounding hoaky - every GLO is great in their own way - there is no way really to rank them
also just because a GLO is large doesn't mean they are better - sometimes more is just more

The question is redundant.
The ANSWERS are redundant (sorry, but Betarulz I'm convinced you had that [completely unbiased] [choke] reply pre-written and just copied and pasted from the last thread!).
The question has no hope of being answered.
It inevitably pisses some people off.
AND I can't get past picturing some guy accosting me in an alley, holding a gun to my head and then of all things asking that particular question.
But since the question is so persistent...
::spins mighty GLO wheel::
The answer is...
::clickety-clickety-click-click-----click::
TKE and Phi Mu! There. TKEs and Phi Mus dance around and rejoice for you are the greatest upon the earth. All others go home and put your heads in an oven because you suck.
Happy now?

it's a good thread and the search function is a good tool. No the search function is a GREAT tool. This was a good thread/topic the first, second, third time it was posted. The point is that this exact subject has been talked about at least, and that's at least 100 times on here. Check it out yourself using the search function.
I don't think anyone questions if it's a good topic or not. We all know that some groups are better and we do deal with it. But judging a group to be better is all based on perception. And that can be fcontribued to 1000 other ways to factor in a receiver's perception.

After deleting more posts than I kept, I am reopening.
If it goes off topic again, it will be closed for good.
Answer the question posed or tell us why you don't want to -- no one cares how many posts per day each user averages-- to post on that subject, see the chit chat thread:
Greeckchataholic? Compare start date v # of posts
Thank you.

Unbiased opinion: SAE and Kappa seem to always have decent chapters.

The basic question is No matter where you go, where are you?
Greek Organizations are weaker/stronger depending what part of the country you are talking about!
For example, KS is one of the strongest in Ks. with 6 chapters. 2 of the weekest are LXA and SP. Limited number of chapters.
That does not mean much does it!
Campus by campus each is different! I each of you got the web imput that I get daily about Greek Orgs getting kicked off of Campuses, there would be little question who is who and where!
I talked at length with a member of a Soroity today who was so up set with the Chapter taht was beside herself!
The point is, her Chapter was having serious problems, but that still does not change just how fine Her Soroity really is!
LXA has had problems with Chapters, that is why some had their Charters pulled for hazing!!
LXA was the first that had a NO HAZING Poloicy written in its by-laws and thank goodness not the last!
I wish to thak the Moderator for reopening this thread.
People, use it do not abuse it!

DUH! It seems that only few people get the question.
Name ONE .. just ONE ... and of course, some people didn't get it by answering two or three or more. If you can't make up your mind, don't even post on this thread! This is more common sense.
Once again, DUH! Answer ONE house for fraternity and ONE house for sorority.
Sorry for being rather cranky here.

that fact that hardly anyone can name just one simply further proves this is a pointless question to ask
no prob about the crankiness

Thanks KSigKid. But it was much better before it was forcibly edited.
I say if someone wants to talk about how pathetic we all are for spending so much time here, that person's post history becomes fair game. ("the prosecution opened the door, your honor"). If it's a touchy subject, then perhaps that info should not be so easily available in the profile section.
But I digress. Far be it from ME to hijack a thread.

When I have talked to non-Greeks about this, they seem to know Delta Delta Delta (and the movie phrase that made them so easy to remember)- so I would say they are the best known. My sister was a Tri-Delt and I think they have some good qualities.
However, if someone had a gun to my head, I would look for something that would tell me what organization they were in and go with that one... come on... If I couldn't see anything to tell me that ... I would say ADPi... it is the best for me!
As far as fraternities... I have to agree with all the Sigma Chi posts. (No I am not married to a Sigma Chi, I married an AKL). I find the values and strong brotherhood of Sigma Chi to be pretty universal from campus to campus (even if individual chapter reputations are different).

What a coincidence! I happen to think TKE and Phi Mu are the best around also!!! (see signature).
But to be unbiased, Delta Zi Omega is a pretty cool sorority and they must be a strong local to go on for over ten years! And fraternity would go to Sigma Chi Omega. Who else would be clever enough to put the best fraternity and best sorority's letters together to form this loving brotherhood?

I won't say who I think is the best sorority on my campus, because I'm rushing in the fall.
The university I transferred from, (Union U in Jackson), I'll say Zeta since I had a lot of friends in that group and most of them were in my major. I was a music major, and it being a small school, we were a tight knit major. Best fraternity there, Lambda Chi Alpha no doubt. LOVE and MISS those guys SO MUCH!!!
Here, the best fraternity is Pi Kappa Phi. My best friend is a Pi Kapp, and every guy I've met is just a really sweet down to earth guy.

I don't really know about the other parts of the country.. but in California (mainly southern california).. I would have to say the best sorority is Delta Gamma Or Alpha Phi...
Fraternity would probably be Pikes, SAE, or Sigma Chi

I believe "best" is relative... I don't think you can really judge best from the outside looking in. There are things you don't know about until you are in, like how well your national supports individual chapters or implements the wonderful programming they toute on their website, or strength of the sisterhood... I can definitely say that Kappa and Tri delt are probably the best known to people outside the greek community... and I know several Kappas who are GREAT WOMEN but that doens't necessarily make them "best" in my book.
