why stop at just movies?
(i think that song 'careless whisper' is cute
anyway there are plenty of songs out there that have ridiculous lines..
i just happen to be reading the booklet from my mariah carey cd. i do like her once i get past her songs' redundancy. her song 'boy' has this line that gets on my nerves, "...my heart races when my motorola beeps or my cell phone rings" i think songs are so corny when they include stuff about your cell phones, beepers, and two way pagers..
while we are still on that song, there is another line, "i am gonna wrap you up" the line itself may not be weird, but it is when the same line is in about 5 of her songs!
or how about britney spears' "email my heart" email?!

"he was a skater boy, i said see you later boy."
how does it take 4 people to write that? seriously..if i wrote something equally as crappy could i be nominated for a grammy too?

i have to disagree on that one. that is a great line because it ties back to a scene near the beginning of the movie when Jerry and Dorothy just quit SMI.

Thank you for triggering my memory. Now I'm remembering the scene where Manolo (Steven Bauer, the former Mr. Melanie Griffith before Antonio Banderas) was rejected by those woman and his call of "lehbian!" after he was slapped.

Ohhhh, yes. I was just going to post this one myself. The only word to describe this line is insipid...it's just awful. Every time I hear it, I don't know whether to laugh or cringe. Some guy actually tried to use this line on me in high school...poor thing. Ugh. I hate it when men try to wax poetic.

Now, say we walk in to do a robbery and we shout 'We're the Younger James gang! And the people will ask 'The Younger James gang? Is there an Older James gang? How come we've never heard of them? And they will be too busy trying to figure that out and not hold up their hand?

I agree with both of these! If I never saw Jennifer Lopez again, it would be too soon. Avril Lavigne needs to take a long walk off a short pier with some cement shoes.

OMG, sg2! When I read what you wrote I had this flashback of Homecoming 1987 when I insisted that a football player do "the lift" with me! I approached him too fast and we were both three sheets to the wind, so we toppled over backwards, he hit his shoulder on a table and I landed quite forcefully on his chest. Ow! I'm sure my mother would have been so proud...

An even more stupid line from the same song: "I'm real, I thought I told ya/I'm real, even on Oprah"
In fact, that entire song is stupid and a major contradiction of itself... but it has a catchy beat or whatever.

The totally "huh???" line that I think of from a song is:
The way your eye shifts makes me wanna go
Black-jawed living room couch professor
this is from Sebadoh's "Not Too Amused" one of my favorite songs of all time, but not for that line.

Yeah...I heard it took a number of people to write this song. Huh? Did people get paid for this??
Can't forget to stay real/ To me it's like breathing...
My stupid line in a song comes from Destiny's Child, Bills, Bills, Bills (which was just a dumb azz song to begin with):
Can you pay my bills?/ Can't pay my automo-BILLS...
WTF is an automo-bill??
