check his numbers, dude - in an era of high offensive numbers (although not great power stats), he held opponents to retardedly low OPS and BA against, won 20 games a couple times, and had a lifetime ERA under 3. Oh yeah, he also hit pretty well from the 9-hole too . . .

i'll dig up a link for you later

Ruth was nasty.

Was perhaps the best lefty of the era, and would have gone to the Hall of Fame as a pitcher if he didn't move to the outfield.

Also, clutch in the World Series - he had the longest Series scoreless innings streak for a while, might still have it.

With baseball season starting up, time to bump this thread up.

Angels had a bad first game yesterday - I have Lackey on one of my fantasy teams, so that's not good.

Got Clemens starting today against Toronto...I'm interested to see how Matsui does in his first regular season game after a solid spring.

Somebody's been sniffing on George Stienbrenner's money,I see. There's at least 4-5 teams that can give the Yankees a serious fit this year. I'm waiting to see if the Bronx Bombers' pitching staff can hold up.

Jeter already separated his left shoulder in the third inning...so if the Yankees do win a something something I doubt it will be with my most favorite player...sigh

I sniff nothing! My boyfriend Derek Jeter dislocated his shoulder. I will happily nurse him back to health.

My prediction: it will be a subway series.
The World Series: Yankees vs. Mets.
I will be happy with just one of those teams preferably the Yankees!!!

Sure. Just as long as you don't Spoil Derek. Steinbrenner might think you're trying to set a bad example on your boyfriend

GO GIANTS!!!

I have to support my boys! I know they are basically a brand new team, but they seem to be meshing pretty well. And for everyone who says they ride on Barry's coat tails, did you see Santiago, Snow, and Durham step up and hit homers last night? I believe in my team!
