I'd also like to note that SAE's colony at Harvard has just been chartered!

question....
To be honest i was hoping for a Alpha Phi chapter at Harvard but my congrats go out to kappa. My question is this...after reading the Crimson article and the amt of girls ( 120)going thru fromal recruitment last fall ,and the amt of girls each current sorority took this yr..... is there going to be more room for expansion at Harvard then just DG,Theta, and Now kappa? Are they talking more expansion after this yr?

Very possibly, but from what I understand, they want to do this one at a time. Because the sororities are so off-campus that they are almost underground, they're pretty vulnerable to ebbs and flows.

I also read quite a few articles talking about the sorority-esque groups that have been forming at Harvard, too -- local groups with non-Greek names, but their purpose seems identical to most sororities. One of the articles talked to the president of one of these groups, and she said that her group might just try to rush KKG en masse . . . There's quite the possibility that Harvard might be searching for a fourth group fairly soon. But I definitely agree with the plan to take it slowly and make sure each group is stable before expanding again.
Congrats to SAE too!

Kappa colonizing at Harvard: Update
The October 1, 2003 issue of The Crimson has an article about Kappa's recruitment for its new colony. According to the article, Kappa "expects to accept 45 women," which will be similar to the number of members of each of the other sororities, DG and Theta.
All three will participate in spring recruitment.
The article is at
http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=349063
or go to http://www.thecrimson.com and use the search tool to locate the article (type in "kappa gamma," or "sorority," for example)
