I think Cusack is a cutie ... I stood on the corner of the street tonight where the skateboard scene in high fidelity was filmed. My friend pointed it out to me. Kinda cool.

I love John Cusack!

My roomie's boyfriend last spring was a spitting image of Lloyd Dobbler. Of course we LOVED it when he came to visit.

Has anyone read the book by Nick Hornby, "High Fidelity"?

Oh, yeah, I am a big fan! I like how he can get that look on his face like "everyone here is insane except me!" I feel that way a lot...

I read the book it's really funny, although I saw the movie first so I always get this bizarre cross of John Cusak with a british accent. I love grosse point blank too!

Is it Loyd Dobber? Or the song "In your eyes" by Peter Gabriel? Romantic song . . .

It's a great song, but without the personality of Lloyd Dobbler, it wouldn't be as powerful, in my opinion. He's just such a honest character with a sort of childlike view of love that is trying so desperately to grow up.

(By the way, I mean childlike not in a derogatory way. I mean totally trusting and completely believing that anything is possible. Y'all do remember those days, right? )

whee! I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves John. I appreciate the way he seems to chose films based on their merit, not how big the box office will be. And I LOVE it when he and Joan do scenes together. They have such a hilarious chemistry.

Saw the trailer for Identity again. Looks definitely creepy and interesting. It will be interstesting to see this side of John's acting abilities, since most of his stuff is more the romantic comedy vein.

I loved Grosse Pointe Blank and was lukewarm on Say Anything. If you REALLY want to see John at his hottest, rent The Grifters.

High Fidelity was somewhat ruined for me because of the girl playing his girlfriend. I didn't see anything appealing about her looks or personality wise and had a problem understanding why he would be so hung up on her. (this is the same prob I had with Funny Girl and Omar Sharif - bleah) The best thing about High Fidelity for me was Jack Black, because I am the same way about music.

Now this is a thread I can on board with!

I have told my husband that I would use my "get out of jail free card" for one night with John Cusack.

I thought he was cute in Sixteen Candles, and fell in love with him in Better Off Dead ("Gee Ricky, I'm sorry your mom's face blew up..."). Say Anything was not far behind. Gross Pointe Blank is the best ("I killed the president of Paraguay with a fork... How have you been?").

I think 2 of his movies were unworthy of him: "The Grifters" and "American Sweethearts" (sorry-even John couldn't save it).

Haven't seen the preview for Identity yet, but now I have something to look forward to! I agree-when he works with Joan, he is greatness.

What can I say? I LOVE JOHN CUSACK!!! (that's so high school...if I could, I would draw a heart!).http://www.eforu.com/gallery/johncusack/pic12.html

oooh... while we're trading websites I think the one for Identity is super creepy and cool . The music does a good job of keeping the whole mood of the film. What do you guys think the numbers mean? Is it how each character dies?

Anyway, I *heart* John and I'm totally looking forward to seeing him in this movie.
