LOL. No way. That would be unbearable watching that movie (or any movie) that long.

What are you talking about?

I can't wait for a new Indiana Jones. The movies in that trilogy have got better and better IMHO.

Jaws after Speilberg left.
Pretty much any sequels are dumb.

Just imaging the new vs. the old Starwars not to mention wondering if Harrison Ford can still be Indiana Jones like he used to be.... Might turn out well, I'm just not that optimist about it.

I don't see what all the hype is about.
Uh, it would be really really hard to make a Lord of the Rings movie w/out sequels, SINCE THE STORY WON'T END UNTIL THE THIRD ONE.

I guess I just don't get where you're going with this

I'm really lookinf forward to the Indiana Jones Sequel.

I am not, however, looking forward to Die Hard 4 with Britney Spears, Rocky 6, or Jurassic Park 4 which all seem to be inevitable.

There should never have been Jurassic Park 3, Smokey and the Bandit 2, Butch and Sundance - The Early Years, Austin Powers 3, Leathal Weapon 3 & 4, Slap Shot 2, Caddyshack 2, and any of the Iron Eagle sequels.

Man, I never realized Hollywood put out so much crap.

Revenge of the Nerds II thru IV

The first was a cult classic you never get tired of.

The rest are just plain tired.

(PS--but I *really* love the original. I have the movie poster framed and on the wall in my office.)

About Harry Potter... in this case, it's not like they just came up with something for a sequel because the first one did so well. It's all based on a series of novels, most of which were written and published before the first Harry Potter movie was in theaters. Fans of the first movie (myself included) would be really disappointed if there were no sequels, especially if they've read the books.

Not flaming, just putting my 2 cents in

They never should have made "The Skulls 2". It was horrible.

I'm looking forward to Slapshot 2, it's going to be great.

LOTR in its various parts aren't sequels - they just broke the story into 3 parts

AFAIK, the "sequels" to the Matrix were planned from day 1, all as part of the story.

American Pie 2 was an awful movie. It was basically "hey remember all that stuff was funny before? Let's do it again, but slightly different, and hopefully all the lemmings won't notice and think it was great!"

I hate it when I go to see a bad movie - Hollywood got my $$ and they didn't know that I hated it, so it just encourages them to make more crap.

But these are books and very good books I think. It's not like hollywood decided to make-up another story with the same characters. But that is just my two cents.

I hate to disagree but I have to..
Lord of the Rings should be naturally exempt in this thread due to this mostly because you could have either 3 movies or one 9 hour movie. Also, as in most sequels some of the characters change giving the sequel a different feel, this doesn't happen in LOTR series.

Harry Potter...well....I feel they should have pulled a LOTR on it. It wouldn't have made lil Harry seem so 'old' in the 2nd. But hey, it's a kid movie, kids don't care..
