I've heard SAI get confused with Sigma Alpha Epsilon and
Sigma Delta Tau. I suppose if you glance at the letters (and have no knowledge of Greek) SDT can look like SAI.

My sorority doesn't have that problem, but when I was a new member, I kept getting Sigma Kappa confused with Kappa Sigma. I also kept mixing up Pi Kappa Phi and Phi Kappa Psi and Phi Sigma Kappa, as well as Sigma Chi and Sigma Pi. Whew! I finally got it straight, though.

Another thing I thought of, when people ask me what sorority I am in and I respond with "Alpha Phi" they say "What else? Aren't there supposed to be three letters?"

I always used to get SigEp and SAE mixed. Luckily we're mostly known as just Pikes so people dont get that confused by our name.
